Giving up already eh? hehe Don't blame ya. I probably won't be playing much longer myself. Already I'm feeling the grind.

There is a ton of neat stuff, but for fucks sake I wish SOE would get a clue and reduce the levelling/grinding bullshit to 1/10th of what it is now.

If there isn't something major to pique my interest I don't think I'll renew my account past February.

There just isn't enough fun to go with the amount of time required to put into levelling.

That, and I still don't have a set group to do anything with, which seems a requirement for EQ2.

Wait, weren't you guys the same ones saying that it's too easy to level in other unnamed games?

This has nothing to do with other games. Other games level easier (SB, Horizons) or WAY slower (L2,AC2). The curve should allow for options. The big problem with EQ2 is its too focused on grouping. The game is fun, but it's frustrating.

It's impossible to level solo easily 30+, and thus you need a decent group to do anything. If you have a substandard group, much like in EQ, you end up wasting a lot of time, and levelling inefficiently.

Also, they need to explain their exp bonus modifers that nobody understands.

There definitely is too much grinding needed in EQ2, and it sucks.

What if you had a game where you would level up based upon played time or quest completion rather than actually grinding out exp killing monsters?

You could only level so fast, such as one level a week and you would gain one level every 24 hours of played time?

Would that make you happy?

-Adam

ps. the most inefficient groups I've been in are the traditional groups, warrior, cleric, enchanter holy trinity bullshit. Charm / pet groups kablown that shit. Or even better, bard, 2 rangers, 2 rogues, and druid = <3

But, if you reduce the challenge and frustration too much, example WoW, you get bored with that too. I know I am done with it, I try to log on and play and 10 minutes is my max attention span to it. Lets face it, we all remember or noob days of EQ, nothing is going to bring that back, EQ ruined us all from gaming

I do not want to hijack this thread into something else, and I know someone will comment that I was challenged and frustrated, if we are to continue that talk, take it into the WoW forum.

I know plenty quitting both EQ2 and WOW. The only ones who think people aren't quitting are fanbois.

Both games are good, but have a ways to go and a lot of frickin issues. At level 30+ I'm not bummed at all if I miss a night of EQ2 or WOW, unlike early EQ.

Let me rephrase:

Paul is the only one in our guild that played a decent amount, that quit. Happy now?

How many people did you guild remove over the last week who haven't logged back in?
Looked like an awful lot. Many were not level 1 or 2.

Anyways, I know an assload of people who've quit WOW. I imagine you do, too, but whatever.

Reading comprehension Lyion. We haven't deguilded anyone above level 10. "Anyone who has played a decent amount". There's always going to be people who played it for a week and don't really get into and say, bleh not worth my time.

Reread my post, fanbois. Fuck, do you secretly own stock in Blizzard, Taxx?

The game is good, but try to be a tad objective, Ahab.

About 10

Looked like an awful lot. Many were not level 1 or 2.

Most were level 8-10, none were above 10

Anyways, I know an assload of people who've quit WOW. I imagine you do, too, but whatever.

You always know everyone who does everything. I've known Paul who has quit. Why twist my words around? Like I said, which I asked you to re-read: There always going to be people in ANY game who decides the game is not for them, and they quit.

Your whole point here is WOW Evangelism. You obviously came to this thread to discuss EQ2, which was the point, right?

Wait, weren't you guys the same ones saying that it's too easy to level in other unnamed games?

I have real life friends, and people I know from other games. I certainly do not know everyone, but again I don't go through life with blinders on and some silly mantra of personal separation while my whole existence revolves around a game.

Try not to take it too personally when someone talks about people unsubscribing to WOW.

My point is people are leaving EQ2 and WOW. People will also join and rejoin both games.

Now, care to discuss EQ2 on this forum, issues, or anything else?

I don't want to play EQ2...but I would like to see it at some point. Too bad everyone I know who bought it has already quit. Sigh.
I miss those n00b days of EQ as well, Paul. Nothing will ever come close.

I was wondering wtf was happening, considering you've finally started leveling hehe.

Lyion, I'm always down for a good group who knows what the fuck they are doing man. You guys should drop me a tell, I try and keep guild groups going when I can and most of the folks I group with actually know their rolls. All of us are 30+ now, I don't login as much as I used too. Maybe an hour a night and on weekends mostly.

You should play your evil noob sometime, I have a level 6 cleric in freeport we could hookup.

What level is your ranger now? I think I might have flown past you a bit because you haven't been online hehe.

Keep an eye out for Stinkbug, I'll prolly be running her around doing all the newb quests to get up to 10.

Right at 31, Vaelie. I'll log in soon, but was taking a break to let more catch up so I'm not levelling with the lifeless fuckers like Coates. ;)

I keep telling you to go good! We have a whole guild you can play with. :)
