In so many ways. WOW is a great game, but it's funny that everything LOS bitched about EQ doing, is being done in World of Warcraft.

Here's a start...

1. Stealth Nerfs. Hi, Priest, Rogue, Mage, Warlock, etc

2. Class changes

3. Game bugs

4. Glitches and issues with raid content.

5. Heavy Changes to classes, and overt nerfs.

6. Server stability issues

I enjoy the game, and I think Blizzard has a good product, but it's ironic many of LOS early complaints about SOE and EQ are being done by Blizz for WOW

Taking the "fun" out of the game.

Drop itemization is shit.

Class specific items have non-class specific stats.

UNFINISHED RAID CONTENT (how many fucking times did Tigole cry about SOE releasing unfinished raid content?)

Timesinks (hello Seal of Ascension 1% drop, fuck you)

I love the game, I just think Tigole is a whiney hypocritcal bitch

taxx they did fallow the Diablo 2 type drop system somewhat (looking at % of drops from different mobs). And i bet there is a item thats like the Indestructible rune from Diablo 2 (1 in like 300,000)

This was the time sink

I have no problems with rare drop such as weapons and stuff.

Malluas the Seal of Ascension is REQUIRED for you you to progress in the game. Our guild is probably going to have to run dozens of runs just to get keyed.

That is the timesink

A good time sink in my opinion. If it was easy to get then everyone would be there getting uber phat lootz and it wouldn't be special, now would it?

Except that it takes no skill to get Kizzy. I could understand it dropping off a boss mob everytime or even every 5 times. But as it is now you have a less than 1% chance of it dropping off of random trash mobs, it has nothing to do with skill and everything to do with luck.

yep sounds like Diablo 2 then.

You could do Baal (end guy drops 5 items) runs and get jack.. go to the Pit (regular mobs) and get uber drops.

You don't understand Malluas.

It is a quest item, it has no stats.

Boss mobs are guaranteed to drop rare things. The RAREST things in the game though are random drops to prevent camping.

Took us a while to get our first seal of ascention too, but since that, we've gotten like 5 in 3 trips. It is truly random. You only need 1 key for the guild, too, as long as whoever has it is on enough to let the guild in, or if someone else has their l/p to do it.

Not that I'm entirely thrilled with itemization either, I've lost track of how many goddamn shaman-oriented mail items have gone to the guild enchanter for parts, and I'm sure you guys get the same thing with paladin-oriented plate. There's some other items that are just stupid, too. Hello, gloves on Vosh'gajin, would anyone even wear those on a BET? Ugh.

I think the difference between SOE and Blizzard is the accumulated track record. Blizzard is still in a grace period, bought for them by the quality level, attention to detail and proven effort to fix issues that was shown in previous games. SOE, on the other hand, demonstrated over the course of years a complete inability to manage the game, on all levels; class balance, itemization, dungeon design, bugs, server stability, etc.

If a year from now, Blizzard is having exactly the same problems, then yes, you can say Blizzard has turned into SOE, but I still have hope that it won't turn out to be that way.

I think that the Blizz crew is getting a crash course on how hard it is to maintain a quality MMORPG

There has been a ton of shit that the LoS Blizz crew whined about in EQ showing up in WoW

that's undeniable

I think maybe now, they'd have more appreciation for how much SOE got right with EQ

I would like to see a hault on resale items in auction houses for recipes in the like. Players who camp limited quantity merchant items for 16 silver then put a one gold mark-up on is something that is quite irksome. Oh, and bind on pick-up recipes: not a very pleasant thing to have for people who enjoy the profession system.

Oh and in case anyone has a batphone; here is a suggestion: just make limited quantity merchant items unique and have them bind on pickup to prevent auction house mark-ups. Get rid of binding on recipes that are dropped from seemingly random mobs and NPC's.

Some lvl 44 mail -of the monkey shoulders were in the AH the other day.
I've never seen an item get bid up so fast... It was a feeding frenzy. I bid 5g, was instantly outbid (so I left to do something else for an hour or so) and when I returned it was up to 13g... Tough Scorpid shoulders 4 lyfe yo~ (because I don't think I'll ever find an upgrade lol)

They need to beef up the drop % on -Monkey and -Eagle flavored 40+ mail. Seriously, only two classes wear mail 40+, would it matter if they slanted things a little more in their favor. That, or just add some fucking hunter-friendly items (that are worth a damn) to the loot tables. Quest and Boss loot mail is so Shaman-centric, I've all but given up. Ranged weapon selection is ass too.
I don't need no instructions to know how to ROCK!

Diablo 2 loot tables = ass

Markup vendor selling as was stated earlier. (there is no reason as to why those weapons aren't soulbond when bought)

Quests that require RIFUCKINGDICULOUS amounts of travel, for minimal return value of spent time.

They need to seriously fix zone architecture/geometry. I am a master at getting to places I probably shouldn't be able to but, am only "allowed to" through poor zone construction.

Example, in that section of ashenvale with the dragon guarding the portal... I walked up to the dragon and said hello (I got hit for 3348 crit, but it was fun)

COMPLETELY bypassing the 62 Elite guards guarding the entire area. All by using the walls and strafe jumping around until I could just go right by everything.

Granted I've been doing this since early EQ, it's still an issue if you ask me.

I agree. I think people need to give Blizzard a little more time. Hell, they got completely owned by the sales of this game they've spent the last month trying to bring servers back to something that resembles stability. Who would've thought they would sell 570k copies in less than 2 months. As soon as Blizzard gets done running damage control I believe they'll get back to the basics of fixing broken content.

Explain to me how it is required?

In our single group runs of BRS we managed to finish the pieces for 4 keys.. You need one complete key per raid for upper brs... I don't see that as a problem...

Because we don't play 20 hours a day like you do and we can't gaurantee that the person with a key will be online. People in the guild actually have jobs so we can do a run every single night.
