Universal Game Cancelling Letter

Dear Sony Online Entertainment;

I have decided to cancel my (check one):

__ EQ2 account
__ Station All Access

I do this because, even though I have played the game 30/50/70/90/110/130/150/168 (circle appropriate value) hours a week, 364/365/366 (circle appropriate value) days a year, I do not feel I get value for the huge double sawbuck that I kick in each month. Why, with $20 I could get three or four meals at McDonald's with my employee's discount, or even buy some popcorn and see a movie, and that can't compare with the pathetic 30/50/70/90/110/130/150/168 (circle appropriate value) hours a week of entertainment I've had in EQ2.

I am forced into this action because: (check all that apply)

___ I can no longer exploit merchants by botting tradeskills and making in game money hand over fist.

___ My shadowknight/paladin horse really is just for show, like it was intended, so now I have to sprint to gank harvest nodes from mere walkers/runners.

___ My entire twink-down strategy is pooched and now I have to actually EARN items for my characters rather than having my level 50 stockpile old gear for them. Having to put time in and work for a reward is unfair and unimmersive.

___ Every time I find an obvious exploit and start to use it, it gets patched away.

___ ___________ (insert class) is broken because it doesn't live up to my imagination of what it should be. Even though I've never actually met a ______________ and even though this is a fantasy game, it's obvious that my opinion is like a decree from God and SOE must be wrong.

___ The whole game is clearly broken because I'm not the top player.

___ There's no PVP. Yes, I knew everyone said there would be no PVP, but I thought everyone was just kidding. Griefing other players who don't play how I want them to is crucial to my idea of fun, and without PVP, other people play EQ2 in ways I don't like and I can't do anything about it.

___ There's no content, except for the 10000 quests that I skipped. Lack of content bites arse.

___ XP is a grind because there is no content. I hate grinding if I can't bot.

___ I can't play this MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER game by myself and become the uberest guy on the server.

___ Fish that can attack me on land are so unimmersive. I can accept laughing skeletons, walking trees, snakes and bears that travel in packs, ghosts, the fact that everyone speaks the same language, bears with feathers, giants that reproduce with no women, sirens that reproduce with no men, that nobody in EQ2 has to use a restroom or take a bath, etc., but fish that chase me onto land are way, way over the top.

___ For $20ish a month, SOE does not have someone dedicated to support me, no matter how inane or flat-out stupid my request may be. This is obviously a rip-off.

No, it is time to make a strong statement. Because SOE has not addressed my issues, I am taking my money and going to (circle as appropriate) WoW/AO/UO/Diablo-n/UT/pull the pud where I am sure my efforts will be appreciated. You suck.

Though, as a Shadow Knight whose horse got nerfed (whah! whatthefuckever), I really don't mind - but in defense, I never used it to gank nodes, I used it to avoid mobs and get from point A to point C by skipping point B, where B must be used to avoide the devistating mobs that would whack a normal speed runner.

Even still, I find without the horse (I don't use it any more anyway since my latest AC/STA buff provides skelly illusion which doesn't stack with a horse) I can still out-distance mobs before they catch me and cream me.

The horse was trivial at my level anyway by the time they reduced its speed. I don't even wear my preorder jboots. Though, I am currently working, and almost done with, my legendary jboots. I just need to get Feerrott access (which at 32, I can do now).
