That deal had exceptions and thats a narrow view of it. Canada would WIN in that agreement, anyway you slice it. Its different from NAFTA, but neither deal 'hurt' Canada at all.
Canada's GDP is $ 957,700,000,000
The US GDP is > 11 Trillion
The conservatives would make Canda more economically strong, create more opportunities, and by doing so help the US since the gaggle of professionals trying to escape your Country wouldn't have to anymore.
It's probably too much to hope for, though, so we'll continue to be flooded by Canadians, both professional and business minded who really want to work hard and to succeed, versus the socialists who do not understand economics and real free trade.
Given Canada's terrible corruption, this view pushed by the Canadian media does not surprise me at all.
