Colon Cancer

A good friend of mine whom I have known for 16 years has been having very mushy bowel movements even though she drinks very little water, and she has been having horrible cramps and stomach pain. After urging her, she went in and got a colonoscopy. They found her colon covered with polyps. She is only 2 days younger than me.

Please, I urge you, if you have any of the early warning signs of cancer, go into your doctor. She is 31 and has to have a complete colonectomy(I know I spelled that wrong).

Some of the warning signs are

dehydration
constant coughing
odd bowels and bladder
cramping
blood in your stool


Just wanted to warn you, I know that people don't like to talk about there bowel movements, but this is a serious matter, and if she would have went in two years ago, she might have been ok.

On a similar note, I was reading about a television reporter who had began suffering from extreme lower back pain which would temporarily be relieved through painkillers. It was later discovered it was testicular cancer spreading through his body that was the source of the pain.

It's always great to err on the side of caution and get things checked out, even if you think it's nothing.

Yeah my family has a history of colon cancer. I wont be taking any chances. Im 31, Ive never had any symptoms or anything, but gonna start getting checked out regularly soon anyway. A friend's coworker's husband got it at 35, went from totally healthy to probably dead now. He was in bad shape a couple years ago last I heard.

But, my mother also died from the big C. So I dunno, Ive just sort of come to grips that Ill probably have to deal with it sooner or later. Just hoping its 30 years from now and some new uber medicine is around to kick its ass
