So basically, I think i might have a virus or something, i've not been able to alt ctrl delete for like the past month or two, and haven't reinstalled because most of my programs aren't valid editions, including windows xp itself. I don't want to reformat for those reasons plus nothing else is wrong, everything else runs fine. Is there anything I can do to remedy the situation? Thanks.

Ive got spybot and adaware (useless i know), and i've done full system scans and nothing. i'm going to get a pirot'd nortons from a friend in a day or so. Maybe that will help, i duno.

What are you trying to access with ctrl alt delete.. just task manager? cuz that's ctrl shift esc if that's all you need.

I was trying to get to the proccesses to alt ctrl delete out of unneeded programs to reduce the memory used etc. Or when a program isn't responding. I'm at a friends computer at the moment, and i'll try what what you recommended Gyps, Thanks.
