They aren't demanding or forcing people to buy Ford cars: they have no power to make people buy their cars or force them to do so - they are saying who can and can't park on their property. It isn't a violation of their rights in the slightest - people don't have an inherent legal right to park on Ford's private property, even if they are employees.

The ban applies to both salaried and hourly workers with permits to park on site. About 15 percent of Dearborn Truck employees have such permits. Employees who don't drive Ford products can still park in an employee lot across the street from the plant.

Maybe 85/100 is a sarcastic strectch but last I checked, the majority of folks I know working at the plants out here were making well over 12 bucks.

They (Honda specifically) dont offer the same benefits you will find at Ford or GM, so they can offer a slightly higher wage.
Starting out on an assembly line you dont make much. Salary employees do quite well from the start, but nowadays you need like 3 degrees to be considered.
