It is a total PR ploy.
The bill is complete pandering and political bullshit. Wal Mart is evil, blah, blah, blah but it doesn't change the simple fact this is a shortsighted political manuevre.
Nobody seems to be interested in the ridiculous costs of healthcare coverage, while companies such as UGH and Aetna clear 10 billion in pure profit on our dime.
I absolutely believe in fair and equitable business practices, but controlling business in a demagogue fashion versus allowing libertarian means is not a good idea.
Nobody is forced to work at Wal Mart, and state governments can pass whatever health care laws and plans they want. Creating a law to attack a company that brings in a large amount of private revenue, solely to capitulate to organized labor is complete rubbish.
