Yep.. but some more advice
Also, try tracking your intake in
http://www.fitday.com and read up on basic nutrition. Ediets must but be good since it is so succesful but consider also just picking up a few healthy cookbooks and tracking your food intake in general. I eat what I want for the most part but just smaller portions and do make an effort to balance out my total calories.
I also stay away from very high fat and high sugar foods. Usually not more than 10grams of each in a serving and typically less than that. I also think its key that you don't starve yourself or as mentioned you will just store it as fat. Pick balanced food combos that are going to fill you up the longest so you are not hungry in 2 hours. Making sure lean protein and/or healthy fats are included in ever meal. Most of the time stick with simple carbs only after or during periods of exercise. I also have berries occasionally with my oatmeal and protein in the morning - they are a thermogenic and get the metabolism going. If I'm on the run I tend to just grab a couple cheese sticks - 160 cal and 12g protein plus a south beach bar or something similar. Breakfast is a critical meal.. it sets the tone for your entire day so never skip it.
It is cool you want to be creative and cook.. food should be enjoyed and yes.. chicks dig guys that can cook.. so when you coming over to cook for me?
