"Soldier teaching kid how to tie his shoes to avoid tripping over landmine" awww, how sweet

"soldier asking child pimp how much for 1 hour with his sister."

but it's on a 'soldiers, upload your pics here' website, so obviously... it's for realz. The intraweb is legit.

:ugh:

Yeah Adivina, Vonk has an excellent point here. Everybody knows that our soldiers over in Iraq are killing people frivolously, torturing prisoners, raping the women, stealing artifacts, and slapping the kids around. Those pics are obviously fake. No U.S. Soldier would have that kind of compassion for the Iraqi people!!! Those pics are photoshopped dammit!!!

Vonk and Mindia when I made the post I said straight out this post is not to spark debate or cause negative reactions in general. Like I wrote, just take it for what its worth. Don't be so negative, and just let this be a positive current affairs thread for a change in the midst of all the news about neglectful parents and darwin rejects.

He obviously shot the kid and is now feeding on him like a dirty burrito.

Afterall, we're just bloodthirsty animals out for the kill.

Quite a bit most likely Gaaz. Look, one of tthe things that is not being released, yeah recruitment is at a all time low in the country, however reenlistment has not been this hi since the late 40's early 50's. So we have to ask ourselves why. Is it because these troops enjoy killing? Or is it because they see a positive outcome and they also see why they are over there.

Adi those pictures you posted always touch home. I have a cousin heading over there right now, and quite a few friends in the Army and USMC.

I would like to see, just once, the humanitarian side of the war that we are not seeing in the papers and the News. This 'only report the bad' mantra that we see since the Veitnam war gets old. The only thing this does is stir up hate for those soldiers in harms way. The belief that pain sells to the masses is only because noone prints the good side of it.

20 Years from now perhaps we can look back at this and see clearly why we were there, and perhaps, we can see pictures like this in the history books that show the good side of this war, along with some of the bad that has happened.

How in the flying fuck, is a war in IRAQ, "traitorous"?

Traitorous to who?

He's trying to say that Bush invaded Iraq under false pretenses, hence being a traitor to America, or some wacky crap like that.

Mindia I understand perfectly well that you were being sarcastic. It was still a remark made to cause conflict hence I mentioned both your remark and Vonk's. I just wanted this to be a thread a little different from the normal unpleasant current affairs.

The picture of the soldier holding a dead child makes my heart hurt. :(

It definetly makes me feel for the people I know over there.

I am still hoping my cousin does not end up getting deployed. I know he is all grown up all now, but since he is my younger cousin he has always been "Little Ernie" (his dad and my grandfather are also Ernest, its a family name). Its hard to let him go. I have to say when he sends back pictures of himself in uniform I feel so proud for him though, he is doing what he wants and that makes me happy. I just have a hard time realizing he isn't "little" anymore and that he is bigger than me now. :P

You want to get worked up over a picture or video? Go to Ogrish.com and watch those brainwashed braindead muslim fucks SAWING the heads off of Westerners while they are alive. The MAJORITY of Iraqi's want us there and I support us being there. It has nothing to do with OIL.

And yes, that picture of the soldier carring the dead/wounded child is very sad.

I have seen the video already. My point was to NOT work people up however. Also, sometimes a subtle image is more heartbreaking than blatant gore. The picture of the child wrapped in a blanket with small spots of blood on it and on the limp foot is somehow more gut wrenching to me. Perhaps it is because it is a child, a young innocent life that knew nothing about war, or perhaps it is the simple tenderness displayed as the soldier caresses the child and bows his head. Sometimes the less graphic the image is the more heatbreaking.
