We need a juicy thread going, so I ask you all this question: Who wrote the Bible?

Obviously many people over many years contributed to what it has become today, but do you think all of those people truly had divine inspiration and were somehow closer to God than the average person?

Did you know that in ancient times, and even in remote places today, people with severe pyschological disorders like schizophrenia were seen as spiritual leaders who were closer to the divine because of their hallucinations and delusions? What if people like that helped to create the Bible?

Who decides what is included and excluded, and how is it decided? What's stopping you from writing your own religious writings and claiming God has spoken to you? Trust me, someone out there would believe you.
