China is using North Korea as part of it's leveraging for Taiwain. It's a big political game, and fortunately we aren't doing the same Korean blackmail song and dance we did in 1994 that proved fruitless and expensive.

Korea is more dependent on China than many think. If China were to pull out aid, North Korea would implode. It's why we have the 6 way talks, and why we don't bilaterally tallk to North Korea. That and Kim cannot be trusted to hold to any agreement, as he's proven time and again.

They need to get the ABL working and then the next time they shoot a damn missile blow it up only a few hundred feet from the launch pad to show them that if they were to launch missile's at the U.S., that it wouldn't matter cause none would be able to pass and they would be completely annihilated. But in return for trying to kill us we would probably respond by having a nuclear sub 10 miles off the coast of north korea and probably only one mulitple warhead missile would be needed.

They need to test fire this crap more.

Plus not to mention we probably have a few nike ajax missile's still working around the country and the newer 5 megaton tipped Spartan missile's and the neutron sprint missile.

All the US is going to do is talk, talk, talk. We're not going to do jack shit about NK building and test launching a missle capable of reaching our shores. The US doesn't get into wars with nuclear powers.

With good reason.

Anyhow, way I see it, we got more missles that we need, why don't we give them some of ours?

I give fuck all if NK has ICBMs or IRBMs or SCUDS with black powder charges in the nose cone. Who are we to say someone can't have nuclear weapons? Being the only country to have actually fired them in anger, I can understand why other countries feel they need them.

I didn't read any of this thread.

I don't think it's a matter of us being the "only one" as much as it is "who" has them. And, that I can understand.

Isreal? England? Sure - I don't think we have to worry about them selling the technology to some rag head hell bent on vaporizing New York.

I really don't care if NK has them or not... what concerns me (and should most of the posters here) is whether or not they're [NK] willing to sell a warhead, or for that matter a complete missile to someone like Bin Laden. Yeah, maybe we can just shoot it down - but is anyone willing to bet millions of lives on a "maybe?"

North Korea will not sell terrorists the bomb because China controls NK and has less tolerance for terrorists than we do.

Talking is good. Debate is diplomacy and means the process is working. I don't fear NK with Nuclear technology, because they are reigned in by China and this is posturing to try and get things from us, as well as for China to haggle about Taiwan.

Because China has such heavy influence on NK, and because we are not in the region, the six party talks make more sense, so we do not act idiotically like we did in giving NK what we did in the 90s in what proved to be a farce of diplomacy. We need to have the parent nearby when we talk to the child. The child cannot be trusted.

Iran is a different story. I expect Israel to bomb Iran if they get close to acquiring the technology, just as they bombed Saddams reactor when he was making progress. The bigger fear is Pakistan will give Iran enough information to allow them to go Nuke. Fortunately we have just enough influence on Pakistan to hopefully prevent this.

Hi, if you want to buy a nuke, everybody knows the best place is the former Soviet Union.

10Sun is correct in this. Almost all of the nuclear materials floating around in third world countries are from Russia and their former satellites.A lot of these materials are unaccounted for by these countries.

lolz yeah right, north korea will sell the nukes to rouge nations and terrorists almost for sure right under the heads of even the chinese. For the right amount, im just saying coming from past experience's with the counterfeit operations and shit in North Korea. Not to mention that korea wouldn't mind having someone else do the job that they aren't will to do at this point, which is nuke the U.S., bin laden certainly isnt poor either im sure he has some of his daddy's billions of dollars stashed somewhere.
