A Christian myth is a religious story that Christians consider to have deep explanatory or symbolic significance.
Mythology refers to a collection of stories about a people, usually concerning their origin, history, deities, ancestors, and heroes behind the belief structure and faith.
"Mythological representations have been neither invented nor freely accepted. The products of a process independent of thought and will, they were, for the consciousness which underwent them, of an irrefutable and incontestable reality. Peoples and individuals are only the instruments of this process, which goes beyond their horizon and which they serve without understanding."

Gargamellow wrote:The idea of going to "hell" frightens people into obeying commands set forth by "The Church". Since the governments have taken control of the world, they still use religion to control the people, but there isn't as much of it as there used to be. This is why the world is in sorry shape. If they would have never lied to us to begin with then perhaps mankind would be at a different place in time.
And no, being overly religious does not make you smarter, college does. But yes, it gives you a conscience without question. I have a conscience which is self-made since the day my bible school teacher told me that Adam and Eve lived before the dinosaurs.
I realize that my speaking on this matter will make me some perma-enemies on this board. But that is ok. I am willing to take that risk to speak my mind. Life is full of tough choices. Just so you people know, my opinion on religion has nothing to do with how I feel about you. And Mindia, you already knew my opinion on religion.
