Hell, in certain states you can smoke weed and still pass drug tests, if you get a prescription. Not federal drug tests, no, but anything else, yes. I actually have a prescription for marijuana in California. In my case, it's due to serious chronic knee pain, from the knee I destroyed playing soccer in my youth. It has hurt 24x7 for the last, oh, 25 years. Pot actually helps the pain at least as much as anything over the counter, and doesn't have anywhere near the downsides to most prescription pain medications.
Not to mention, it's FASTER. I can't tell you how bad it can be sometimes, walking home from classes and my knee will feel like it's got a red-hot spike driven through it, and it will barely work to keep walking on. Then I can get home, and rather than wait 45min-hour for a painkiller pill to take effect, I can smoke a few puffs and the pain gets seriously reduced, in the span of less than 5 minutes.
In any case, due to the prescription, by the laws of California, I will count as having passed the drug test if pot is all that shows up, and given that I don't use anything else any more...
