I used to service old Apple mac and other computer monitors, and would do TV's on the side. Back in the day I even used to use an osciliscope(sp).
Point being, and it has already been mentioned, you can, with relative ease one way shock yourself into death, no question.
Know you are working with very high voltage because the TV has to be on to do these adjustments.
I used to have this neat tool, I'd call it a discharger, you'd ground one end to duh ground, then slide this pin under the nipple that looks like a suction cup on the CRT, it would make this really cool sparking
A redneck "discharger" (of the non-feminine type LOL) would be a flat blade srew driver, and some 14 gauge wire, now that would make a nice spark but it would melt the end of you flat blade craftsmen too jeje
