The thing I didn't like about AA is that it promoted mindless grinding, which ultimately got very very boring. You knew my play habits back when I played, EQ, Snerp. Unless I had a incentive to log in outside of raids, I just didn't do it. Basically, mindlessly farming the same mobs over and over and over again for the occasional AA ding got so overdone and boring, it contributed greatly to killing my interest in the game itself.

While I admit that WOW could use a non-PVP motivated reason to get people to log in and play outside of raids, I don't think that promoting mindless grinding is the way to go. What that reason would be, I have absolutely no idea, to be honest. They'll obviously get it with the expansion, as there's a need to log in to level up to 70 and then to re-gear yourself with level-appropriate gear once you get there, but then the same problem will come back.

there are differences between grindings though, sure if you soloed your way through, which I remember you doing a fair bit of killing those mushrooms with meto, then ya you're going to be bored out of your mind. I played EQ for years and really only soloed for xp once, when sanctuary was trying to get yelinak ahead of los, I grinded from 58 to 60. Aside from that, I always grouped and I never got bored of grinding. If you're bored, pull more mobs, or change things up, or try harder content, or hell find more interesting people to play with :p.

I think an AA system wouldn't work quite as well as in EQ because of the lack of community, there is a ton more soloing in wow, but they really do need to come out with something. IMO you keep people logging in, you build a community and you keep people interested. If you only have people logging in for raids, you don't have that same tie to the game or the people you play with

It wasn't hard to be "great" at EQ. If you wanted to be in a top guild you just had to lose your social life and a lot of sleep.

MMORPGs aren't about skill, it's about commitment.

I play on a PVE server primarily and I don't necessarily play it to get better at PVE.

You also have to remember that WoW was created with the mass-market casual gamer in mind for the most part. Putting in a grindfest AA style of advancement would go directly in the opposite direction that they've been promoting for the past 2 years. IF they ever do decide to go that route, it won't be a grind effort, it will be something more creative.

Ok sure,
You're a pve player who thinks that just because you can "own" in a staged, instanced pvp event you really know what pvp is. When in fact you really have no fucking clue. What pvp means to you is equivilent of a duel to anyone who has had experience on a true pvp server.

Good day.

Aaaaaaand you fail to realize I was also on a pvp server for 4 months (Dalvengyr) and that battlegrounds are now cross-server including PVP realms as well. Anyone who acts as if pvp servers are so different are just looking for a reason to get their asses kicked.

PS: we also played LONG before instanced PVP was around and we were basically flagged 24/7, anyone around from back then can attest to you how much pvp'ing I've done.

Good day.

Ok if you're going to be a bitch then go ahead.

I don't stand around dueling. I could count on one hand how many duels I've done in the past month.

Did you even play before BG's were out or are you just a shit talking kid?

No,
I just have very little respect for the opinion of a PVE player on dealings with PVP.

In fact, I think you sumed it up very nicely before

Hell I even went to a pvp server for 4 months trying to get better competition in pvp and it's no different. I could sit in BRM ganking people who are afk or waiting to do their leet BRD/UBRS runs but it still didn't take any effort. As far as the playerbase there was not much difference at all as far as attitude or skill. If anything, players on the PVP server were more of the leet AOLer d00d types and still sucked at pvping.

hahaha so you think a 40 person zergfest is pvp? Laughable

I guess people who are skilless and can depend on 39 others to bail them out would consider it that. I prefer the smaller encounters where your individual skills actually matter.

I suppose those AOLer d00d types run parallel to the "PVP" experts who run 24/7 flagged on pve.

Both think they are uber. But both really have no clue.
