Well this also brings up one of my usual religious conversation pieces.
Religions aren't magazine subscriptions you subscribe to by choice.
You don't go through religions searching for your favorite and go "Hey, that's cool!" and then call yourself a believer of "X".
Well, you could, and many do, but then you'd be a complete and utter tool.
Let's take this hypothetical for a bit. Christianity is the only true religion in its base form. One God, Heaven and Hell, etc.
If I decided "I don't like this whole Hell idea, I'm going to be an <insert here>"
I'm wrong and my choice meant fuck-all. My subscription to <insert -ism here> was a waste of money.
I am open to the fact that any religion could be "correct". I am also open to the fact that ALL of our religions could be the furthest from the truth.
Things I am not open to are people who will tell you that you are wrong. There is no right or wrong in a debate of beliefs and faith.

When liberals go off the deep end and cheer about someone dying - that association sticks. People think "what a bunch of dumbasses" and from that point anything else they associate themselves with gets less consideration, or taken less serious.
Let the right cheer MM's death... let them show the world how childish and rediculous THEY are. The rest of us can show the world that we're bigger than that.

You thought positively upon his death. That is how you are.
You're both a hypocrite and now a liar.
Personally, I neither cheer nor care. From my perspective he was as much of a positive influence on society as an addict down the street. Everyone dies and his turn was probably better suited than most.
Both Michael Moore and this tool have something in common.

So what exactly should be a persons primary motivation be to join a religion? Upbringing? It should be purely a matter of what home you were brought up in? That really speaks to your commitment to faith if you refuse to question your religion and believe blindly in what is forced upon you.
I think it's great if someone wants to find his or her own faith later in their life. It is the purest form of religion in my mind. An actual faith in something more, founded on your life experience. A child being told what and how to believe is sad and pathetic.
