okay. you all know I'm writing a manuscript.
I do not own my own computer, therefore I have been saving my doc in word, emailing it to myself and then opening it wherever I am to work on it some more. this is risky, as I've been locked out of my mail before, but that was after changing my pw..so I don't think it will happen again as long as I don't make any changes.
it's been working for me..but my roommate recently decided not to let me use her laptop anymore..so I had to find another one to use while I'm at home. the good Doctor I work for said I could borrow one of his laptops. yay!
but no...wait...crap. there isn't a program to open my doc. a licensed copy of word costs $100 or so...a trial version of word won't let me make changes and notepad saves in .txt which I can't open someplace else unless I copy/save to my email..and well..this really should be so much easier.
then into my life today came this link
http://www.google.com/google-d-s/intl/en/tour1.html
and my problems are solved forever. it saves while I type...and since I have a proofreader...we can read it together online, at the same time and make changes as needed. it is the most ingenious tool for writing and I am so excited now. I have 45,944 words I've been emailing myself over and over...and no more!! I just had to share.
maybe some of you would find it useful too!
google owns word

Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.
