all semantics aside, what i'm really getting at is that you make it seem like women are such complicated, twisty, manipulative creatures but with men, you "always know what you're getting," and i think that it's not quite as lopsided as you make it seem. for every "gold-digging whore," i think there's an equally messed up dude just waiting to fuck around with someone b/c he's been fucked around with in the past.

i don't think head-case women are the majority any more than i think uncomplicated men are the majority. everyone has their own hangups and issues, and i think the difference is how they choose to work with it. some people push through it and try to be decent, loving human beings despite their issues (mindia), some people decide to lock up their feelings and only look out for themselves (diekan), and some people decide to hurt others and mess with their minds (all these crazy chicks you guys have been finding). i just think that sucking at relationships isn't gender-specific.

I have a ton of experience with women on many levels. Women in general are fucked in the head, that's a fact. Obviously some are more fucked up than others and I still love all of them but they are all crazy. The sad thing is, I'm obviously willing to put up with quite a bit of crazy as I have spent almost all of the last 20+ years in relationships.

if a solid relationship with a quality guy wasn't boring and was what every woman wanted - there'd be no single "nice guys" out there and every asshole out there would be clambering for the fat-chick-scraps left. The fact that most "nice guys" finish dead last, while the assholes are swimming in p00n should tell you that I'm dead on accurate.

it's no secret... if a guy wants to keep a woman - treat her like shit. If he doesn't - all he has to do is start acting like he cares about her and treat her right - that'll chase her right into the arms of the nearest asshole who'll treat her like shit.

As for MY relationships... lol... when did I ever say I had a problem with GETTING women? I don't. I have no problems getting dates. I have no problems with telling them what I want up front. There are some who want nothing to do with it and there are others who are down with it. MY ISSUE was - as the original post of this whole discussion started with is that when I finally did decide to "settle" down - I get played with. Such is the poison that sours my take on most women out there and further re-enforces my opinion that they are fucked in the head. How many times do I have to say that I have never lied or manipulated a woman for sex?

Finding one that isn't a head case is hard. Finding one that isn't an emotional, confused basket case that isn't already taken is next to impossible. I can pick up the cell right now and call any of 10 different "friends" for a "date" tonight. None of which are "settle down" material. None of which are women I'd trust in a relationship.

Massively crazy complications with intimacy is a trademark of mankind as a whole. People want it almost more than anything... but they don't want the risks of being exposed to emotional harm, betrayal, and abandonment that come from really opening yourself up to someone. People will do incredibly stupid things (consciously or subconsciously) to sabotage potentially great relationships because they get stabs of fear for the aforementioned reasons.

About a year ago I made eyes with this little blonde while working out at my gym. A couple of days later I saw her in the grocery store and started a conversation. She seemed interesting enough so I asked her out for a drink. Later in the week, over the phone, the drink turned into a dinner date. We went to a nice quiet local place, then back to my place for a movie. This chick was looking for a serious relationship - I was not. She made a move and I rejected it - yes I turned her down. I told her point blank that I wasn't sure if she and I would make a good couple and that I didn't want to use her. She tanked me for being up front and left.

About two days later I find a note taped to my front door. A long note - begging me to give her a chance. I wanted nothing to do with it. I invested the time in getting to know her and I knew there was no connection on MY part. Two more days passed and I started getting voice messages DEMANDING an explanation on why I wasn't interested. Umkay... I called her and told her that while I had nothing against her, no hard feelings for her that I just wasn't interested.

Fast forward about 10 months. I get this text, from her, asking me out for dinner. I didn't even reply. Now, I am at the gym and run into another chick that I think I'd like to get to know. So, I start up a convo with her and think everything is going well. Then she shuts me down... out of the blue. Come to find out - from talking to one of the trainers... the blonde and her are "friends" and talk. Seems the blonde, full of spite, poisoned any chance I would have had with this chick.

Now, you tell me that she isn't fucked in the head? Tell me BOTH of them aren't fucked in the head.

I did everything right by the blonde. I gave her an honest chance, I wasn't cruel to her, I didn't use her, I told her I wasn't interested. Yet, even after ONE freaking date - this psycho can't stand it. After a fucking YEAR - this psycho can't stand it. As for the other... who in their right mind is going to take the word of someone scorned (for whatever reason) without actually ASKING the other person for an explination?

Something weird...

I dated a chick in high school with whom things didn't work out after graduation (no surprise there).

I bumped into her old best friend back in January and she gave me her # and told me that we should get together for some beers and to shoot the shit sometime. So I did what any self respecting male should do. I filed the number away and forgot about it. Bumped into her again a little bit ago and she reminded me that I had her number, so I called her up last week to come have a few beers and to be my card partner at my friend's house. We ended up hanging out and having fun til the wee hours when I finally had to call it because I was going kayaking the next day, before she left she told me she wanted to go see Resident Evil: Extinction. So we went to see it on Sunday. Ended up hanging out after the movie for a couple hours just catching up.

Probably going to watch the OSU game this weekend at her place. Fuck Perdue.
