and they are suing some guy, not for distributing ripped MP3s, but for simply having 2000 or so MP3 versions of songs copied from CDs that he legally owns present on his computer.
Now, I know where a lot of people are on the whole "illegal" download thing. Illegal distribution I can understand bitching about, because every song copied for free and not paid for IS a loss of revenue for the corporation, even if artists don't see it. However, this is simply asinine. They're going to lose and lose badly, and there's going to be big-time customer backlash to this idiocy as well.
