EQ/EQ2/Shards

Postby LostCause » Sun Feb 10, 2008 2:48 am

Wondering to those who still play,(I believe there should be some)how much of a drop in population are we talking here. I have a urge to play EQ again, and wondering if it is even me paying 20 bucks to play it again. Because if the server population sucks I won't even bother, don't plan on soloing all day. Also is anyone playing Shards still ?...What do you need to play that again ?...On the same note what about Everquest 2 ?..I haven't played a MMO in a longtime and looking to get back into one. So any feedback guys would be appreciated honestly...Last MMO I played was CoH/CoV that was fun but got boring very quickly due to lack of content. Although the eye candy was rather impressive.

Best way to see what you think about EQ2 is to try it.

Antonia Bayle (RP server) is jam-packed full of people. It's got issues because it it.

Butcherblock has what I'd term medium population. There are people everywhere I go but I'm nearly 80, too. The lower level areas aren't deserted but they're not wall-to-wall people either. Finding groups up until you're around 35-40 isn't easy because pretty much everyone solo's til then. Getting to 35-40 is pretty cake, though.

No...I'm saying at the lower levels it's more solo centered. Mostly because you zoom through the levels.

At higher there's plenty of grouping, raiding, etc.

There's quite a few NTers on Butcherblock.

I've been playing shards of dalaya since august and I have to say it is the best eq experience I've ever done. The community is great. The game is great. It's everything everquest should have / could have been. I'm playing a paladin Naethyn lv 55. My roomate boxes a wiz/clr - Nikkolaii and Vadiel. My girlfriend plays a druid Jesilyn. There are quite a few others who play too. Xach, Blackdiam, Finawin, Garebelic.

The game is great. I'm also a smith so if you happened to play a chain/plate class I can hook ya up with gear.

EQ patched to GoD.

Download this file:
http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/files/PatchFiles.zip

Unpack it to your EQ directory. Run the SoD patcher

Create your free account here:

http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/register.htm

and you win.

How is it down there in Pensacola Florida. There is a huge possibility that I will be living down there come June.

Pensacola is paradise. The weather is beautiful. The women are beautiful. The beaches are amazing. I absolutely love it here.

You extract the files.zip to the main eq directory where all the files are. Then run the exe named SOD.

Dude Naethyn, SoD is fun to toy a around with a few nights a week, but better than the original EQ experience? Sorry dude, way off. What theyve done to it is fun, but its just not the same. No MMO will ever have that. For me, at least

Ok, granted, walking out of qeynos hills to find there is a HUGE world and other continents is an experience I'll never have again. Going from Diablo 2 to EQ was a big jump. There simply wasn't anything like it.

But in terms of game play, itemization, quests, class balance, and content SoD out performs live eq on all levels.
