Congrats on the babies, Araby and Drem. My oldest is 20 and my youngest turns 6 in a few weeks. I've lived in the same house for 10 years and my brief stop in Ohio is now at 14 years...Time flies...

hmmm haven't done a legit update in a while

work etc: finally got off my ass and started looking into teacher's certification programs. already qualified for English 7-12 endorsement, gonna start online certification program this fall. would like to take some electives in hopes of adding another endorsement or two, still looking into that though. current job is fine but i am way burned out on it - i never intended to make a career out of criminal justice but lo and behold here i am ten years in and i am starting to really hate it. good thing i've got a plan!

music etc: new group is fuckin crushing it. played the big stages at the waiting room and the slowdown in omaha (along with sokol, they are NE's biggest music venues). owned a few house shows, got some good press. we were gonna go to SXSW last month but couldn't scrape together enough cash. hoping to do some mini-tours this summer, get an album out, then hit CMJ in the fall. SXSW 2014 will be our bitch. recording a promo song/video this month, will post when it's done.

bitches etc: ain't shit but hoes and tricks. few dates here and there, nothing real serious.

everything else etc: new apt is baller, got me a grey gato named Nadezhda. summer softball starts next friday, though i'll miss a handful of games thanks to rock n roll.

Had twin boys Sean and Vincent on March 15th. My wife had a postpartum obstetrical hemorrhage and almost didn't make it but she's ok now and we're all home.

Was the longest month of my life. I'm pretty calm and collected most of the time but I found myself crying and praying for some of the only times in my adult life. Nothing I would wish on my worst enemy. I'm not a newly converted religious fanatic or anything but I certainly feel like I'm looking at life through different eyes.

Now begins my new mission of surrounding my sons with sports equipment and prepping them for professional sports =P

Grats to Drem grats to Araby and I hope everyone is well.

holy craps, jay--so glad everyone is ok! and mazel tov on the new little bundles of joy. :boots: (and of course congrats to drem and araby!)

me in a nutshell:
Image

hahaha, lame jokes. anyway: married life is pretty great... in the sense that literally nothing has changed other than my last name. and a renewed sense of acceptance among my extended family. though the full-court press has begun from his side of the family for when we're going to start popping out kids. awkward.

the new job is awesome--i'm actually celebrating my one-year anniversary here today. time has flown by and i kind of can't believe it's been a year already. i've started to move over to copywriting, which has been really fun but also really scary. i don't suck at it, at least. but it's been a ton of long hours lately! free time is at a minimum between extra work hours, gym time, and spending time with fam/friends.

otherwise there's not much going on. one of our dogs is getting to the late stages of kidney failure and it's been really hard for the past month or so. we know he probably doesn't have much time left but i think there's a lot of denial happening--maybe not so much on my part, as i'm stuck firmly in the "depression" stage of grief, but josh is definitely moving through all of the other steps and it's hard to go through for both of us. we'll make it. i feel dumb getting so worked up over a dog, but sam handwich is family. it's like watching a family member slowly slip away to terminal illness. it sucks.

ANYWAY. that's about all i have.

i know it! and my business cards finally came today, too, so it's like i'm a real member of the office now and not a new kid anymore. ha.

small dog-related update: sam's bloodwork actually stayed the same since the last appt, and the only change was a positive one. i was so relieved i almost started bawling right in front of my carpool buddy, ha. he goes back in six weeks to see how things are going. bad news is dodged for now!

Ugzug/Langston and I had a baby boy on the 4th. I had a post-partum hemorrhage as well, Jay, so I feel for you and your wife. I spiked a temp of 105 during the delivery, and then the baby's shoulder got stuck. He came out purple and not breathing, but they were able to 1) get him out, 2) get him breathing. My bleeding stopped with only about a liter of blood loss, so fortunately I didn't require a transfusion or anything. Whatever gave me the fever, though, developed into a lovely little head and chest cold which has been LOADS OF FUN on top of a brand new baby. Also, coughing with an episotomy = not fun. Baby then became jaundiced and lost over 10% of his birth weight, going long stretches without eating. Had me a nervous, crying wreck for a couple days, but I think we're on the road to recovery now.

Copy cat

My now 8 year okd is Alexander James

It's a good name! Ugzug fought for Alexander Cole, but I pulled the mommy card and got to keep James, since it's sort of a family name for us. Plus I like the ring. We are, however, forbidden from calling him "AJ", which was his final stipulation.

i was actually wondering if there would be any AJ-ing. funny. i'm also not big on names being shortened to initials. not for boys, at least. somehow with girls it's kinda cute. (my friend mary kate goes by MK most of the time, and we had a lady at work who everyone called SLH, for sherilynne hansen.)

As soon as he starts owning the sports world, he will become A.J..

Jay, glad everything turned out ok with your girl. Scary stuff.

So many munchkins.. I give Leah 5 years before the clock starts to ring.... :asthanos:

My husband has named the baby, if it's a girl, Mary Kathleen and wants to call her MK. I am not a fan! But I'm not worried, as I think it's a boy :)

Congrats everyone :) I love being pregnant and my toddler baby gets more fun every day.

My girlfriend and I had our son 13 months ago, he's almost walking and talking, ugh. It feels like last month we took him home from the hospital.

Image

Image

I'm working third shift, and it's slowly killing me inside, but really no way I'm going to find anything that pays as well around here. Girlfriend's restaurant she works at closed, so I'm doing that dreadful sole provider thing where you feel trapped in whatever it is you're doing.

Someone just hacked my bank account (or at least my debit card's number) last night, so I have that to deal with. Took all of my money out and closed it, and now I need to find out where the security leaked in the first place to avoid future incidents.

wow, everyones having babies and gettin married and shit.

To everyone - Congrats! Seems like everyones doing well.

Personally, I am learning the hard way that owning a home is nothing but a godamn fucking PAIN IN THE ASS. 3000 in plumbing/sewage bills over the past 3 weeks because I was too fucking stupid to sign up for the godamn insurance. On top of owing a shit pile to the bastard government for making a damn simple IRA withdrawel when I bought this house, im fucking sick of it all already and Im not even 30~

Oh PS...you all were right about the AIDS guy. I testified and helped put him in jail for taking 800,000 of peoples money and misusing it. Hah. Talk about being young, dumb, and gullible. I look back and say what the bloody fucking hell was I thinking. Maybe next time I'll listen to people
