What ever .... now they can loose even more GM's and Guides. Zero skills needed to play this game. Just need a mouse and a keyboard....Guess its been like this for a few years allready though.

Maybe it's just me, but this seems a good idea for the part time players.

This in no wab n00bifies things. its just another good idea that they're implementing to make the game more forgiving to those people with lives.

Why in the world would you bitch about something that HELPS people out, but in no way makes the game easier?

This won't hurt the EQ Lifer, but will help the part time player, that makes up 75% of the gaming population.

Its a way to lessen focus on EQ1 and focus more on EQ2 not to mention a way to try to fence of WoW - which is in BeTa now

The thing is WOW is not a similar game to EQ. its an MMORPG, but its instituted differently, from what I've seen. EQ is more a D&D clone, whereis WOW is a different beast.

This is just implementation of a good idea to lower the pain of people who don't play EQ full time. It doesn't simplify the game, but helps out people who are time challenged. It's a good idea.

I'm inclined to agree with the other responders. The graveyard zone is a great idea. I've had several friends over the couple of years I've played who lost a corpse due to computer issues or unexpectedly having to work out of town for an extended period. One had this happen just a few months ago. He played a 65 druid and was fairly well equipped, used to be in Regret before that broke up. I don't remember the full story, but basically, he's now got a 64 druid he doesn't play much because when he petitioned, the GM did give a partial refund, but not the full set lost and not even equal replacements on what he did give. He was so frustrated, he shelfed the druid and started a new char from scratch. Anyway, the graveyard zone could have saved a ton of grief.

I actually like this idea. My hub had a corpse get lost in the top of a tree in Fear once...it couldn't be retrieved or seen by anyone. (and yes, necros and bards could do nothing) GM said it was accessible and wouldn't do anything.

Next day with only 30 minutes left on the rez timer a friendlier GM moved it from the tree. (Did I mention he'd lost level and we were frantically trying to get him xp enough to go back in? Yes, it was stupid to go with so little into the level but we've all done really dumb stuff at one time or another.)

Anyway, if this cemetary thing had been in game then it would have been a hell of a lot less stressful time.

One time when I logged on drunk and died, and didn't log on for a week I lost my corpse. I logged on like 2 weeks later to see myself standing naked and didn't know what the fuck was going on. Sure enough I send some tells and my corpse had poofed a week before. I then spent the next 6 weeks trying to get gear reimbursed, and eventually talked teh GM into giving me 5 pieces. I was past the point of rollback and my corpse had been gone for almost 2 months at that point.

I left myself a note when I logged on drunk in UP, I had such a train lmao, and couldnt find the IZ to zone out.

Before I log on EQ drunk I write myself a note that I did, so I dont forget that I had and not play for a week.

I agree that the new graveyard zone idea is good, especially for us that play casual and not able to spend our life on eq

I do most of my best pulling when I'm drunk.

And you were long gone when I did that Caladore, you guys were already on MS. I was sying because I was drunk on an almost weekly basis so you probably remember one of those times :D

when I first started playing EQ I had to share an acct with my husband but one night he died and got drama camped for a few days... and then I played my druid more than I should have. He lost his corpse and was pretty fucking pissed at me.

So this sorta thing could have saved me the yelling and bickering ><
