There are no longer cloth, leather and mail cloaks. All cloaks can be worn by all classes.

*Note: The in game patch notes do not reflect the above change. Soulstones will not work this patch

Rogues have been nerfed 4 straight patches. We were given talents then promptly nerfed again. I'm all for balance but the WoW rogue is turning into an exact clone of the Everquest rogue...boring. Sinister Strike is becoming a thing of the past, backstab is being beefed up. This patch I finally bit the bullet and changed to a backstab/stun/dagger rogue.

The Paladin has the same chants as DAOC, the Lay on Hands from EQ, the spells from DAOC and EQ, and the same melee abilities.

At least the Shaman has mostly original things, despite the fact it's pretty much the exact same design as the EQ Shaman.

I'm curious how much was lifted from AC, as I only played that game three weeks...

Are rogue talents any good?

I'm asking cause talents for warriors were awesome but shm talents are pure crap.

I know we are overpowered and all, but the talents dont really do anything.

Rogue talents mostly consist of "This skill has 3% more chance of working". There are a few good skills like cold blood (next attack is automatically a crit) and remorseless strike (if you get a killing blow on the last mob, your next hit is an automatic crit).

Deadmines was great fun, and I'm starting to get hooked on WOW again, dammit...

I don’t think you're playing the same game as me. Time and time again you say things that, to the uninformed may seem intelligent are actually devoid of any truth or insight.

WoW Shamans don't buff at all, except with Totems.

Shamans don't slow.

EQ Shamans don't rezz.

EQ Shamans don't have dmg shields.

EQ Shamans don't have totems, or any form of AE buff.

I guess we are backup healer which is like EQ.

Shamans are like bards in EQ if you feel the need to compare everything.

In my opinion, the design for the WOW Shaman is a hybrid healing offensive class similar to the design of the EQ shaman.

I stated straight off the abilities are all original, the DESIGN is the same.

I think the problem here is your education has left you bereft of understanding the meaning of certain words. Design does not mean identical.

At least the Shaman has mostly original things, despite the fact it's pretty much the exact same design as the EQ Shaman.

Oh, so a hunter with bandages is the same design as an EQ shaman.

My apologies, you're a freakin genius.

Shamans in WoW can use 2 handed axes/maces, wear mail armor, heal not nearly as good as EQ shamans, have limited time party buffs (like a bard). I'd agree, if I compared them to anything in EQ, it would be a bard and not a shaman...the WoW Druid is much more comparable to the EQ shaman than the WoW shaman is to the EQ shaman.

If you think shamans in WoW are a healing class, I guess you consider Rangers in EQ a healing class.

If you took the WoW shaman's totems and made musical notes fly out of them and called the class "bard" would you still think it had a EQ shaman design? I don't understand where you're going with this.

Obviously to you they have nothing in common with EQ Shamans. Thats fine, but my opinion is different.

EQ Shaman were an offensive/secondary healer design.

WOW Shaman are an offensive/secondary healer design.

For fucks sake, I'm not saying the abilities are the same or that they are copied, but the underlying class design is similar.

DESIGN means the class is setup a certain way. In my opinion the underlying design is the same.

My 20 Shaman does fine as a secondary healer. They may not at higher levels but my exposure from 1-20 soloing and grouping is why my opinion is what it is.

Being you were an EQ Shaman Taxx, I'm amazed you forget just how ridiculously versatile a class they were. They could pretty much do everything. Yes, they are very similar to the WOW Druid, too, but I was comparing Nuke/Heal/offensive capabilities. Its tough overall because they are much more limited on the WOW side right now.

So you think they are a closer design to EQ Shamans then EQ Bards, despite having nothing in common with shamans and everything in common with bards?
