Well, the players were led by FOH, no, sorry, they were not all FOH members. Who said they reached the level cap?

1 raid, 24 people, running through tthe script and yes, I call that tested. And just because that is the only one you have read does that mean that it is the only one they have tested with players? Since they form GM organized raids every couple days I bet they are testign more than one.

The reason they didn't beat it? Raids are not made to be a pushover in EQ2. WOW is aimed at spoonfeeding you sucess, read their leveling and raid poilicies where they explain their goal. Why is half of WOW not in the game till release? Because it would all be burnt through by any guild with a KOCF level of competence before release.

I much prefer a tested raid, where the script and encounter will definitly work that is A CHALLENGE, versus a completely untested raid that is designed to be easily won.

Then you would like WoW. It doesn't matter anyways, with the 4 hours a week you said you can play, you'll never see high end.

No, I won't see the high end of EQ2 for a long time. If I played WOW on my ~8 hours a week I would have to wait literally 4 and a half months to get to the end of the game!

And as for all the WOW raids being tested thousands of times, do you mean the couple that are in the game that everyone does because there is nothing else to do? Or do you mean all the secret untested content that none of the players have tested?

If we are talkign about internal testin somehow I think both companies hve testing stuff thousands of times.

I play more than 8 hours a week and I've been in since phase 1...I haven't seen all the dungeons.

I'm sure you're right, both companies have tested their dungeons thousands of times internally...see where that got SOE in Luclin, PoP, and their other fubared expansions? Until Blizz drops the ball like SOE did with their craptastic expansions then there's no arguement really, their track record speaks for itself.

Exactly! The track record speaks for itself.

SOE is releasing a game that doesn't have a bunch of left out untested content. With thier track record if they were I would be very wary. But since they aren't I know there will be problems but nothing like some of their past screw ups.

WOW's track record is poor support, poor control over their player base, patches in all their games that make the games easier (W3 anyone?), and no exp at all in MMOs. WIth that track record they are planning on releasing a game that is >50% untested. Smells like POP where in a month they will come out and admit they didn't expect players to reach this content so fast and it wasn't ready for release.

Were you playing the same EQ I was playing the last few expansions?

WoW's track record is poor support? Where? Can you reach an EQ GM at 3 AM and have it take less than 5 minutes?

They already said their raid content is done and is being tested....it's not being worked on other than testing.

Yep, and did you read my post? If they were relasing EQ2 with a bunch of hidden untested content...

WoW's track record is poor support? Where? Can you reach an EQ GM at 3 AM and have it take less than 5 minutes?

Sorry, Blizzard's track record. Seriously though? You think they are going to keep staffing levels the same past the first 2-3 months? If so you need a buisness class and a MMO history lesson.

They already said their raid content is done and is being tested....it's not being worked on other than testing.

Internally tested. SWG said the same thing. AO said the same thing, EQ has said the same thing, Horizons has said the same thing, DAOC has said the same thing, FFXI has said the same thing. See a pattern?

You're in a beta with a few thousand. Don't compare it to release.

I beta tested the original EQ back in 1998, and recieved INSTANT GM support when there was an issue. I agree there are a lot of people with valid gripes about EQ.

Why don't we all agree both games need more testing and wait until we see some valid feedback from people at the endgame after release?

He wasn't in a guild going through the progression as the expansions came out. I think Infusion only got to the end of Luclin after GoD was released...

So, you're saying because he's a casual gamer, and didnt rush to the endgame his opinion doesn't count?

You do realise 75% of MMO'ers or so are casual gamers, right?

So did I, and for some reason I don't remember it quite like that...

I came back and played EQ for like 2 months in Infusion. Before that I was in CT for a long time. I would say that was progressing through content fairly well.

And I do agree, both games need more testing, but I'm EXTREMELY confident that in 6 months we can look back on this thread and find out that I'm right (like always! :asshole: )

the raid was 24 people, the maximum EQ2 raid size (4 X 6). But still using 30th-40th level skills and gear. And they got Vox to 90% on their first try, about the same on the second. They eventually got her to around 50% before adds spawned and wiped them. Sounds like a good, fun, raid to me.

Damn something fubar on my machine, didnt see half the replies to this thread tila fter i submitted.

Most people didn't experience firsthand the unfinished content of EQ's expansions. Those who did know what was going on and how poorly tested/finished things were. Therefore, their opinions on how well finished EQ's expansions were upon release are worthless.

So you are saying that you disagree with me? You believe that all of SOE's expansions were fully tested complete and ready for release?

You got lucky.

I had a monk stuck under a bridge in freeport for two days.

Sony has a proven track record of releasing unfinished content, and their Nov. 8th release date implys nothing but the same.

The game may well be better in the end, but that doesn't change the fact that you are going to let them charge you to beta test in... just over a week now is it?

I'm saying you have no fucking clue as to how unfinished the expansions are when they are released because you are a gimp and didn't(don't) get to them until they've been out for two years.

Completely not true, I was probably in my 35 to early 40's when you were killing "uber shit"

I was close but not far behind, I just never joined a big guild because at the time I still played on dial up and wasnt playing "hardcore" yet.

I HEARD ABOUT SOMETHING AND NEVER EXPERIENCED IT MYSELF AND NOW I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!!

How's Antarctica? I'm sure you could tell me exactly what its like there just by reading and looking at pictures.

Or whats it like to look out a space shuttle's window and experience zero g's?

Hows VT treating you after what? 6 months and the expansion was released how many years ago?

Tell us how far along in PoP progression you are?

How far along in GoD?

OoW?

Done any of the working LDoN raids?

I'm assuming you beat Legacy of Ykesha already though!
