I haven't done any tradeskilling, so nyah! He started because he couldn't find some of his upgrades. What's wrong with tradeskills anyway? Some games the best stuff comes from it.

I dunno what level or anything, Donnel. Will ask him when he gets home tonight.

The first 20 levels is stupid easy to get tradskilling if you ahve about 10 silver to spend on it.

I went to lvl 8 TS in about 30 minutes so I could make bags for my bank slots.

So you haven't done tradeskills to 20 yet, and DON'T know how easy it is.
Because it's not. And it takes more then 10 silver.

You couldn't get to level 8 in 30 minutes and spend less then 10. Do I have reasoning behind all these statements? Yes. Will I waste any more breath? No.

I didn't get to lvl 8 in about 30 minutes?

damn. What was I doing in the tradeskill room for 30 minutes?

If you are careful with what you buy you can level up with almost no cost in the begining.

Buy from whom? Vendors? Players?

If you don't do any foraging on your own you could do it in 30 minutes MAYBE....

but seeing as how the actualy combine process takes around 30 seconds you would get 60 combines in during that 30 minutes (assuming you never had to run over and buy more fuel)

So 500% xp divided by 60 combines. You would have to get 8.3 xp per combine and never miss a beat.

If you forage your own products 30 minutes doesn't even come close. If you don't forage your own products, you short hand yourself as an artisan.

I'm not trying to start an argument, but getting to level 8 to make bags easily does not mean the tradeskill class is inherently easier then the adventurer class. I can get to level 10 in adventurer in about 2 hours, does that mean anything really? Nope.

And I ramble alot today anyway, because I was up late, got about 2 hours of sleep, all for the benefit of getting my adventurer level caught up with my artisan level (I lose 5 points to alot of skills if artisan is higher because I made an uninformed decision earlier in the toons life)

Hmm, can you explain that Donnel. I haven't done Artisan, but was looking to on my Ranger. If my Artisan is 3 and my Ranger 17, am I screwed?

When you got to the Inn the first time, and the banker asked you if you were an artisan or adventurer, what did you chose?

If you pick adventurer, and your artisan level goes higher then your adventurer level, the game acts like you lied to it and penalizes you 5 points (possibly 5 per level difference, dunno) to some skills. The ones I noticed for sure were the harvesting skills (mining, what not).

I imagine if you pick artisan and let your adventurer get too high there are reprecussions too but I don't know for sure.

So basically, I dinged 13 Scholar last night, and lost 5 points (only temporary) to my harvesting skills (almost dropped me below the minimum to mine in Antonica) so I got in a writ group with some guildes and when that broke up, turned in quests for the last 30% or so.

Why the hell would I buy from other players when you can make cheap items that give exp and sell back for almost as much as you bought them for from the vendors in the tradeskill zones?

When will you learn that all Faginataka does is spout bullshit lies?

It seems to bother Taxx that everything he has ever challenged me on he turned out wrong. :)

So all you do to level up is buy the shaped Tin bars, shaped fossil temper and coal from a vendor? (as an example)

If that's the case I KNOW your xp rate would suck because using 2/3's shaped materials is a serious penalty. No way you are getting 8.3% a combine average over 8 levels using shaped products, it's just not possible.

btw, the books level 3-8 cost 7 silver by themselves.

Where the hell are you buying the books? They cost something like 2 silver. I think on newbie island they are below 2 silver each. Are you using the broker and buying from players or the vendor?

And just buy a few of something that is at your max level. Basil broth I did for 2 levels for example.

holy HELL! that is a fucking great idea... consider it done!

Right now I have a mean mean looking Ogre on Mistmoore that will definitely be a brawler, or whatever that tier 3 wannabe monk class is.

The ogre model was done insanely well... best model in EQ2 IMO... You can make them look mean as hell. Ok going to read rest of thread.

If you want loot you pull out a ralph-penis sized sword (6' or longer)

and kill shit... Thats where loot comes from.

tradeskeeling is for f@gz0rz.

*sigh*

You don't have a clue do you.

Tradeskills in EQ2 will make things equal to the highest level drops in the game.

Not just for f@gz0rz anymore.

The non-tradeskillers are going to be crying when they find out the rarest and highest master upgrades don't drop as books, but as components for master craftmen to make.
