Oh I misunderstand then. I don't hate myself and honestly I don't hate Asians. I hate the Asian reaction to America. I like Asia's Asians just fine. Loyalty, honor and respect are in our blood. We have super strong family ties. We are no strangers to hard work and earning our keep. We're blessed with intelligence. Those things about Asians are cool.

What I hate is how every American Asian between ages 14-28 has to adapt gangster rap culture. How we are constantly looking for ways to jack someone or exploit the system. How you're not "real" unless you're ripping someone off. I think every single member of my family abused the welfare system to be honest with you. Sad part is, we're making above average American income AND abusing the welfare system. It's in our nature to take any system and exploit the shit out of it (no abc la~). So yeah, the Asians tell me I'm too white, and the whites tell me I'm too Asian lol. Yeah I kinda resent it to a degree but it's all in the past since I'm doing all right on my own now.

I would like to take this opportuinity to introduce you to the term "model minority."

What makes a model minority? (Or should I say THE model minority, being American Asians.)

Even after being opressed and treated as if they were less than human, the Asians have managed to come out on top here in the US. However, there is still some discrimination despite the high tolerance levels between whites and asians as is displayed in the fact that no asian will move up in a white man's company. (And vice versa.)

American Asians do better than a lot of whites in the US.

I know what you mean by people selling out and acting stupid. Well, that isn't something only asians are doing. Every other person in the US is adapting to the new trends in music and dress. Just get used to it. The world is changing. Do you want to be on of those who moves along with it? Or do you want to be one of those left behind?

I'm all for advancement and adaptation. It's just that the Asian community has a hard time diversifying in that advancement. It's all unidirectional. You can't be an asian teen with asian friends and like alternative music and speak proper english without being called a sellout. You can't be aspire to be anything but a lawyer, judge, shady cell phone guy, real estate agent (that's a new one in the acceptable asian occupation rule book) or doctor without being told you're an idiot. You can't do business legitimately without being told that you're a pussy for sympathizing with strangers in your will of not wanting to rip someone off. I'm one of the few if not only in my former Asian circle that has articulate speech, education and a semblance of an idea of how to make it in life without ripping the country off. My belief is that there's ways to move ahead in the US without exploiting it and other people. I practice business legitimately and am willing to wait for the long term benefits as opposed to my family members who think I'm sympathizing and caring for a world that won't give a shit about me. It's true to an extent, but I don't have the heart to rip someone off (at least not illegally. I'd definately be down to con you and make you sign contracts that aren't for your benefit). You'd have to be Asian to really know how much we're robbing this country blind.

Oh and to add, any transaction I ever do with anyone is more difficult because of the shady asian stigma.
