Will do rey, I never turned my audio off to begin with so that may have been part of the problem.

Thanks Tikker. PNY has a 7900 on sale at best buy for 179 bucks. Anyone know how much the card manufacturer matters? I have been using ATI for a looooong time so I am not sure about card manufacturers.

Quick search on Pricewatchshows some manufacturers offering $20-45 rebates, with shipping the prices seem similar. If you want to net 20-30 bucks you can... brand names are a subjective matter though

Limited widescreen support, so depending on your monitor that may or may not be a problem. Seems quiet, low power consumption; looks like a decent card.

some manufacturors will OC the gpu/ram somewhat

I think as long as you get a mainstream group, you'll be fine

EVGA, XFX, Asus, nvidia, MSI, etc

I've never had a PNY card myself, but I've also never heard anyone whining about one either

PNY is fine, they use Nvidia's manufacturer's specs to the T.

They don't provide a good "package", and so it is usually cheaper by comparison.

I have a PNY GeForce 2 still kicking around. Its at least 5 years old and it's never given me any problems.

Hey so my friend and I started playing EQ2 together awhile back but it turned boring.

So my question for you fine folks is: Can two players level together effectively in this game? Is it really set like other games where one tank and one healer is required or is there more le-way for combinations?

I play a bard and I've done everything with a paladin so far. The paladin has enough healing to save me when I get in a pickle, but also generally tanks everything for us.

You regen health insanely fast in between fights so as long as you can outdps the mob(s) before needing a heal, you should be able to do virtually everything. I'm sure eventually a dedicated healer will become necessary but I haven't seen anything yet that we can't duo (for our level)

You will get wtfpwnd in the couple of "dungeons" I have been in without a balanced group.

I am lvl 21 now and we play twice a week generally. There is something fun to do every night I log on. Really good times if you have a regular group of folks to adventure with. Great questlines, challenging dungeons, etc

I'm level 13.. The game is amusing, but my big problem is trying to find groups. The servers are still fairly empty.

Wow, check this thread out. This dungeon seems pretty damn cool. I wish I had time so that I could play this game. http://www.silkyvenom.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11882

We need more guildies!

If you have a group of even a regular partner, the game is really fun.

What level you up to Toss? We're all 12/13 in our merry band of fagboats and it's taking pretty much 2 play sessions to raise a single level.

lvl 24 Shaman. Yeah, I only level about once every week or two which is fine. I'm in no hurry. There is tons of content we have missed already because we are out of level range by the time we discover it.

Around what level do you get out of the linear quest lines where you finsih up in an outpost and basically the last quest is to send you to the next outpost to do a set of quests there?

I think those are done in the mid teens. Now most of the questlines revolved around "beating" a particular dungeon. You get decent gear upgrades along the way and are sent deeper in to the dungeon as you progress in level. There have been a few timesink quests that I have not bothered with, otherwise most of them are group based quests that you can knock out in an evening and get everyone in the group a nice trinket of some sort.

One of the things that really impress me with Vanguard is how frickin huge the areas are. You can leave a city, travel for 15-20 minutes across a desert, up a mountain etc and then look out over the cliff and be able to see the city you left off in the distance along with tons of other points of interest. That's how we've found many of the adventure areas we've visited.

"Wow! What's that huge tower off in the distance?" "Dunno, lets go check it out!"

Yeah, there is a lot of undeveloped area. They are adding new content all the time and the content that is there is pretty damn cool.

It'll be interesting to see how well we can 3 man content once we get a bit higher in levels.

I'm hoping I don't regret going Blood Mage over Cleric.
