What about men? You know what you're getting with a guy... you're either going out with someone who's just trying to get some ass - or you're going out with someone who's looking for a relationship down the road. Either way, there is NO comparison here.

Women are by and large completely fucked in the head and usually don't have the first clue as to which way is up. Men on the other hand have a LOT LESS issues and are much easier to read.

Are you people really just this stupid? What part of "Women, by and large" do you think I mean to say EVERY woman?

I've always thought NT had some of the more intelligent posters of all the boards I visit -but I am starting to wonder.

I think it's pretty much a given that no one has ever said X or Y about a particular gender, race, religion so forth and has meant to apply X or Y to EVERY SINGLE member of said group.

Of course there are some women out there who know what's what, who enjoy being treated right, who don't play games, who have their head on straight. Does this really need to be said?

If I had meant to say, "every single woman out there is nothing more than a fucked in the head, gold digging, superficial whore, always on the look out to upgrade." I would have said EVERY SINGLE WOMAN.

OK first of all, fuck off, my reading comprehension is fine, thankyouverymuch. secondly, "by and large" isn't exactly very clear language if you're trying to exempt a portion of the group--say "a lot of women" or something like that (or, in your case, "all the women i've met," since your experiences are not necessarily typical). if you're going to exclude people from a group, try and be a little more explicit about it.

thirdly, i actually think you're making some strong generalizations about men. i don't think men are quite as devoid of issues as you are implying, nor are they particularly easy to read. and i know you said "have a LOT LESS (sic)" (it should be fewer, not less) and not "have NO," but again, your exclusion vocabulary could use a little work.

At least you know what you're getting up front. Most men that I know, including myself, are pretty upfront about what we're after. I have never made false promises just to get the ass. Women on the other hand will play your emotions to the max, get what they want, then bolt.

As for leah, yeah I think it's just retarded that after all these years you STILL have to have a sentence by sentence break down of what someone means spoon fed to you. Let me say it again to be more clear. It is a given, it is understood, it is automatically implied that when someone makes a statement about any particular group that the person posting is not talking about each and every single member of that group. There's always exceptions. Not everyone woman is a gold digging whore. Not every man is out solely for a piece of ass. We know this... we all know this. The fact that you have to be told this AGAIN and AGAIN is pretty sad. The fact that ANYONE here has to be reminded of "the given" is pretty damn sad.

all semantics aside, what i'm really getting at is that you make it seem like women are such complicated, twisty, manipulative creatures but with men, you "always know what you're getting," and i think that it's not quite as lopsided as you make it seem. for every "gold-digging whore," i think there's an equally messed up dude just waiting to fuck around with someone b/c he's been fucked around with in the past.

i don't think head-case women are the majority any more than i think uncomplicated men are the majority. everyone has their own hangups and issues, and i think the difference is how they choose to work with it. some people push through it and try to be decent, loving human beings despite their issues (mindia), some people decide to lock up their feelings and only look out for themselves (diekan), and some people decide to hurt others and mess with their minds (all these crazy chicks you guys have been finding). i just think that sucking at relationships isn't gender-specific.
