What you want to say is that the planned parenthood ORGANIZATION'S ( not the actual phrase) name is contradictory relative to its agenda.

Isn't that what I said?

I think you need to re-read my post. I said Planned Parenthood is an oxymoron as the abortion clinic uses it.

No, back a few months ago, this came up. :lourdes: and others were trying to get you to see that "Planned" and "Parenthood" are not contradictory. She even said "the words, without knowing wtf it was, are not oxymorons" You went off and said "yeah they are, they kill babies, thats all they do, they kill babies and call themselves planned parenthood. thats an oxymoron"

Its not.

Planned Parenthood - not oxymoron
Creation Science - oxymoron

You know good and damned well that I was referring to "Planned Parenthood" the name of the abortion clinic as an oxymoron. Nice backpedal attempt. You all lose.

THERE IS NO LINGUISTIC WAY THAT 'PLANNED' and 'PARENTHOOD' CONTRADICT EACHOTHER; IT IS NOT AN OXYMORON.

Either way, if you meant the words themselves or the program, they still help you PLAN your parenthood, they push adoption (they gave me papers about it when I went in for my pregnancy test) and only talk about abortion if you ask. They are there for condoms and birth control. They do pregnancy tests and STD tests. They DONT push abortion at all.
Program = not an oxymoron, or ironic, as I think you may have meant
Words = not an oxymoron.

Then they should stop performing abortions too. Then and only then will they have lived up to the full meaning of the title of their clinic.

He knows, he's just being the typical retard he is incapable of avoiding.

It's like talking to a 3-year old with an attitude.

If you just want to talk about the goals of the company. They are all about planning to become a parent. Becoming a parent when you are ready to have a child. If your plan is to have a child in 5 years, then an abortion would be considered part of that planning if you were pregnant now.

Most of what Planned Parenthood does is teach you how to avoid becoming pregnant. The problem you have is you see the word abortion and you ignore everything else. Why is it that when you ask people to look at Christianity and point out the bad you want them to look at the good and see that it out weighs the bad? But when you look at Planned Parenthood you see the bad and want to ignore the good.

Stop being so hypocritical. If you want people to see the good in your religion you need to be willing to see the good in things you don’t like. Planned Parenthood does far more good then bad. Their goal is for no women to ever need an abortion, how is that a bad thing. They don’t want women having abortions; however they would prefer a woman have a safe abortion then an unsafe one if she is going to have one. You yourself have admitted that you are for abortion in rape cases, lets say it was someone close to you, would you prefer it was done at a reputable place with good doctors or do you want it done in some back ally by some med school dropout who needs to make a few bucks.

Now back to the topic that we are currently on. Planned Parenthood is not any oxymoron. Even if you completely screw up the meaning of oxymoron and decided it has something to do with the agenda of teh organization. It still isn't an oxymoron.

I know your an English god but just incase you forgot. The definition of oxymoron is

A rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, as in a deafening silence and a mournful optimist.

So explain to us who obviously don’t have your superior understanding of the English language how Planned Parenthood is an oxymoron.

Which statement, the one where you call Planned Parenthood an abortion clinic, which it isn't. Its a clinic that well scheduale you anb apointment with a doctor to get an abortion but it does far more then that.

Or the one where you said if they stop performing abortions they could live up to their name. As I explained before, if you PLAN to be a parent in 5 years, helping you get an abortion now would help your PLAN, so its still planning your parenthood.

So enlighten me.

Honey, give it up. He's too hard-headed to say he was wrong. You're never going to "win". We've ALL told him that PP doesnt only do abortions, though they do have ONE office building that does, not every clinic will do abortions, and he still has it set in his mind that you can waltz in the clinic and tell them to suck the baby out with a shopvac.

There's always 2 positions to take in any topic. You always take the wrong or "narrow minded" position. I'm done with you.

I do admit when I'm wrong. I've done so here on the NT on the couple of times I've been wrong about things. How quickly we forget...

You call me "narrow minded" and keep a straight face? When the last time you actually considered something that is not in your very narrow scope of life?

You can call Planned Parenthood anything you want, it doesn't make you correct. When is the last time you were actually at one? When is the last time you spoke with the people who actually work there and found out what they actually do? What personal experience do you have that you can so confidently say you know what Planned Parenthood is about?

You are a food critic writing a horrible review for a restaurant that you have never actually eaten at. You listen to the views of other and blindly follow without every actually bothering to do anything yourself.

When you have some personal experience and a mind capable of actually viewing things for yourself, you might be able to hold up your side of a debate. You know nothing of Planned Parenthood; you are ignorant of what they do and what their goals are.
