The new M5's are expected to be in North America late 2005. PS. That stock M5 that ran the 12.8 had 394 horsepower and 368ft-lbs of torque. The new M5 has 500hp and 383ft-lbs of torque. So basically, it's going to run significantly faster than the 2002.

What don't you understand about they've already done test runs? The numbers are right there.

Are you kidding me? What don't you understand? This is a luxury sedan with 5 seats that is going to give a high-end sports car with 2 seats some pretty serious competition. Oh, and have you been able to find any exact numbers for the 2005 M5? Because I sure haven't.
And in 2002, when the M5 was most recently released, it would in mocst cases beat a 2002 vette.

THEY HAVE TESTED AND COMPARED THE 2006 Z06 AND THE 2006 M5 What more do you want? I don't care if the thing had 50 seats, your arguement was that it would beat a corvette...it will not. Period end of story, goodnight.

.7 seconds difference. At the drags, .7 can easily be added on a bad run. Put an M5 against a Z06 on the street and I bet you the Z06 wouldn't win every time.

I've wrote this before in another thread, but the Vette has it's own dedicated team of engineers and really shouldn't be associated with other GM vehicular masterpieces.
And I agree, that Vette is volcanic.

I'm not a vette fan either, normally, and I still probably would never buy one, even if I could afford it, but I too have to admit that he latest one looks pretty damn sweet.
