Yes Spazz because I am sure the person who catches an STD did it intentionally. You know condoms don't protect from everything. I am also sure that the person who dies doing cocaine was not using is responsibly.... some people react to shit in different ways.

AND OH MY FUCKING GOD LEARN TO SPELL OR AT LEAST FORM SENTENCES CORRECTLY PLEASE! Reading your point of view written so poorly makes me just want to fucking smash you in the face, even if I agree with you.

No bad points. Thats not people being responsible for themselves thats people fuckin up and if you fuck up you should be punished. AND IF PEOPLE CANT DO IT THEMSELVES WELL LET THE GOVERNMENT DO IT !!!! Wich brings us right back one of the many reasons why somebody might wanna burn a flag. Government treats its own people and the people of the world like children then wonders why someone might be mad at them. Even my horrible spelling grammer and punctuation dont even compare to some of the other retarded things people have written in this thread. Ifn you grasp what im sayin who cares how its written...... english skills like mine i could one day be the president( since its not a job only certin families have a shot at. LEADERS not RULERS ive been set str8)

A teenager blows his knee out in HS, has surgery on it. 10 years later while driving his knee locks up and he cant get his foot off the accelerator and runs somone over. Same result HS sports are bad!!!

Adivina wrote:What about the father who shoots up to escape reality, overdoses and dies, leaving behind his family to fend for themselves? Are they not victims?

Tired mother comes home after a long day to take a bath. She starts to fill the tub and sits down next to it as it fills. Starts to doze off and falls onto faucet knocking herself out, she drowns in the tub. Same result as your OD.

Adivina wrote:What about the man who catches an STD from a shady hooker, comes home and transmits to to his wife or girlfriend? Is she not a victim?

Man catches an STD from his GF. He later breaks up with her and dates somone else. She gets the STD. Same result again.

Adivina wrote:What about the prostitute who ends up beaten to death by a customer, or the dealer who has now reformed his life and one day ends up getting shot by someone who used to have an issue with them. Are they not victims? Is their family not affected?

Not really sure how this one really relates other then the prostitue being killed but I will work with it.
Professional Soccer player is shot missing a pivital goal in an importnant game. The shooter has reformed his life and is one day shot by somone else who had a problem with him.

Adivina wrote:What about the children who are beaten and molested by their cracked out good for nothing drig binging father? I certainly think they are victims.

What about the children who are beaen and molested by their good for nothing father working 70 hours a week doing manual labor.

These comparisons say that Blowing your knee out in HS, having sex with your FG/Wife, Playing professional soccer, and working 70 hours a week manual labor all can be the cause of vitims later on. You can analyz any action in this way and tie it to a victom. If the hypothetical dont mean much lets take a real life example.

About 4ish years ago I was in a car accident, I was it from the side by somone who ran a red light. My insurase company told me "If you hadn't left your house today, the accident wouldn't have happened. You are at fault for the accident".

Now had the driver of that car died, would his family not be victims? Just by leaving the house, I could be the cause of somone being victimised.

PS

The point is he claimed that they were victimless crimes, because the only one affected by the drugs are those who use them, which is not true.

I would think you would understand that and not write something as skewed as this as a reply. There are risks in everything in life, my point was exactly that, drugs and prostitution do not leave effects on only those directly involved.

Sometimes they don't, but often they DO only impact the person involved. For every example you cite where they do impact other people, you can find an example where something perfectly legal has an equal negative impact to drugs/prostitution.

Honestly, I have NEVER understood why prostitution is illegal. I mean, it's completely legal for someone to sleep with whoever they want, often for the price of dinner, movie, and possibly some flowers and/or bling, but it's illegal to directly charge for it up front? Makes no sense.

The people in your situations as opposed to Adivina's are trying to function in daily society legitimately. The people in Adivina's scenarios are assclowns who create victims from their own wrongdoing. The people in your scenario are just unfortunate. Results are the same, but I can definately tell you that one type of situation happens more than others. Death from drug abuse is a little more rampant that faucet KO's. I don't have any stats to back that up. Just a hunch really.

It's legal in Nevada still, but only in a Brothel. Street hooking is illegal in Nevada too.

Yeah, I know, Mindia. But why ONLY there? The fact that it's illegal anywhere is what's always confused me. *shrug*

And Jay: For every one of those examples of Adivina's featuring illegal drugs, I could substitute "Alcohol" and it would be just as applicable. Legal and Illegal is utterly irrelevant.

The point is that you're mixing Use and Abuse. USE is victimless. ABUSE frequently is NOT.

Because Uncle Sam can't get a piece of the action when street walkers are "working."

I agree. I just don't agree that it should be compared to a hard working woman who dozes off and knocks herself out on a bath faucet.

When it comes to drugs, pretty much anything above coke, and often times coke, use = abuse.

It is not an arguement of whether it is bad or good. I am just replying to Spazz's theory that it is an illegal thing that does not effect anyone except the direct users.

I know many legal things also have reprecussions when using them, I never argued what should or should not be legal.

You have yet to state a victimless crime

Drugs: plenty of ppl die all over the world due to drugs and im not even saying drug users.

Prostitution: tho on some lvl i may agree with you, if it was legal IE nevada I ccouple completly agree with you but then it wouldnt be a crime ... Pimps, whored out 12 year olds, ppl that get off on beating up hookers on the street all fall under prostitution

None of the above is considered victimless... so please elaborate.
