Lol I remember going along with Davester and Durango, and a few others from Order Mystica, to camp the ogres in WK for their awesome loot.
I think my druid, Laromir (very first toon. put all of his points into Sta because I thought it would allow him to melee~), was all of lvl 22 at the time, and I was comlpetely amazed by how awesome a 45'ish druid and magician could be (and both of them Humans no less!).
I also recall dying horribly at least once, but it was probably the most fun I ever had in EQ.
Hehe come to think of it, I recall raiding King room in Permafrost (and wiping almost completely at some point...think there was an IG or two in camp just as the elites and stuff started respawning, and people started dropping fast), as well as a group or two of us camping for wolf skin slippers (dying several times myself and also wiping horribly on a few occasions) for several nights. There was a Najena raid that I was late for, I tried to find my way in to them invised, but the place was really scary and I ended up gating out and missing the fun.
I regret missing out on the big Mistmoore raid, and the fusion of OM with another guild (Knights of Lore, was it?) because I had taken a break from EQ for most of that December. Last toon I ever saw with an Order Mystica tag over his head was Laromir, and it stayed there for months afterwards until the next guild wipe came along.

Order Mystica and Knights of Lore 4 LYFE.....
Seriously tho, any guild that would make me an officer let alone a guild leader had something seriously sick in the head going on.
Sup laromir.... You disappeared on us we were wondering where ya went for a while. =P
And yes, that Mistmore Raid was one of the end all be all raids. It was like a 2-3 day raid just to get Rotkin's corpse out of the cook room.
Good times indeed.

Heya, Cal. Yeah, still feel bad about that. I kind of dropped off the face of the earth (or Norrath at least) for about a month there, and hadn't thought enough to let people know first.
Think I was going through my usual winter funk, and just decided I was burned out and needed to try something else. It was a rather abrupt decision. One night I just up and gave all my gear away to some newbie druidess in Kelethin (Autmnrain..Summerrain..something about seasons or months and rain in it, like that narrows it down lol).
Ended up playing Baldur's Gate for about a month or two before I finally felt like trying again.
Felt like a bum for dropping out unannounced, so I didn't try to get back in touch when I got back to find the guild a ghost town, and the longer I put off getting back in touch the worse I felt about trying to get in touch...
Decided to roll up a new druid (never deleted Lar, but I never used him as a main again), and spent the next few years pretty much alternating between periods of play (which was mainly spent bouncing around aimlessly from alt to alt) and breaks until I quit EQ for good this spring.
I had some good times with the other guilds I played with later on (Blade of Immortals, which also disappeared while I was away on New Year's break, Circle of the Shadows, which disbanded while I was away due to deployment last Spring/Summer, and Path to Honor), and met plenty of good folks, but I miss newbing it up with Order Mystica the most of all.

Its all good. Yeah the merger kinda killed it for me as well. I went from getting thrown out of a bunch of low level guilds until I finally apped for LoS. There was some MAJOR drama there, but when it came down to it I met alot of cool Crimson Tempest people while doing it. I ended up flagging with them while I was apping LoS, I got alot of mixed shit due to my NT nonsence back then so I ended up getting dropped and I went to CT and got in. I retired like 3-4 months ago cause GoD sucks ass.
Been debating a return for Omens but not sure, got a good job, new house, new GF, etc etc. Basically RL is treating me hella good so I am doing that for a while.

This is a message board, not a frickin assembly line.
I realize the 5 seconds his post took to read left you traumatized for life, but your secondary post to his tangent one pretty much gives you Pot/Kettle itis.
Chill.

I remember when a good bit of Sanctuary thought I was a loot whore for taking Blighted Trousers (omg) on Flink when another Necro (Geka maybe?) passed them to me... That might have been the raid I pulled pofear with Flink too, which was crazy back then.
Another memorable raid that I wasn't a part of but I watched was the first AoW kill... watching the clerics spam heal Captain Bvellos was great, and all the corpses piling up... it's sad that he is practically groupable now.
All the Gaypickup raids were fun, to date Karmie and Gullem are the only people I know that could whip a bunch of unguiilded/various guilded folks into shape to get the job done. Most pickup raids are just ugly, with people doing whatever they want or think is best.
When I was in Kylin Eyes, raids were a blast. Despite what rumors you hear, those are some hardcore Asians, a lot of the guild doesn't understand much english, yet they adapt to strategies well and never wiped on a raid I attended. Sometimes I wish I never left them, but school was more important at the time.
But, when it comes down to it, the Stormhammer GM events are the most fun I've had in EQ. With AA rewards at most events it gives an entirely new form of advancement in the game, exactly what I've always wanted. A lot of the loots given suck, but sometimes they throw out some high end PoP loot or a Talisman of Vah Kerrath (which went to a level 53 shm grrr [req lvl 55])

Another one I remember is back when I was in The Black Templars and LoS had their "we'll help you kill CT/Inny for the epic pieces" offer out. We still had the PoH/PoF schedule going and the next day was EoTA's day in Fear. We came in with 3 groups and an hour later 3 groups of LoS showed up to help us clear and kill CT. I don;t remember the details but Im pretty sure EoTA was pissed off pretty bad because we never told them that LoS was coming to kill CT =P
FLINK
flink is/was the shit....Geka was cool also.
Best chanter tho (skill and humor) was dashi. Granted again i didn't group with alot of people but i just remember dashi yellin at people breakin mez.
(i was the person doing it on purpose
)
Match (i think) had a great drawing posted on the SoS boards about dashi and gettin pissed a mes... i still laugh today about it

heh, Flink was always cool and fun to play with but comparing his skill with necro to Geka is like compationg moss_snake_001 to Nagafen.
No offence to Flink who might have gotten 100 times beter since

Amazingly, a conversation with Geka often killed as many of my brain cells, as the early Flink posts did
Why is it most of the Necro's had piss poor verbal abilities, coupled with severe social limitiations? They were all the pwn, and could kill anything solo!
Meanwhile, as I run through zones as Lyion, recieving numerous tells "Dude, have 3 corpses in Skyfire, will pay for ress, plz'....

i remember my wife was out of town for the weekend so i was set to play marathon over 2 days, I was maybe level 50 and I got to run around to CoM for Reavers and the Shammy epic drop (i think that's right), then to Ragefire for the cleric epic, and then to PoI for more fun, It was the most non-stop action I had experienced and with a big group of cool people
Mindia is seriously the greatest troll that has ever lived.

I think my most memorable raid is the Hate raid led by Nizzar the day that the original Hate revamp went in (not the one where the zone was completely redisigned, but the one where all the second floor stuff was added to the original Hate). I was playing my cleric Ponder, and all the other clerics had already gotten a piece of EM gear. When it was finally my turn for a piece, the BP dropped <3.
As I recall, we had about 70 people in Hate that day, and had 5 BP drops of various types.
My second most memorable would also be the Hate raid that I went on with umm...War Dragon? I dunno...was some TW guild. I just asked to tag along to get the book for my rogue's epic. But, as I was the only rogue on the raid, I ended up doing all the dragging, and got my rogue's BP out of it too =)
I used to live in Hate.

oh i didn't say Flink was better than Geka or the other way around. I just thought they were 2 cool peoples in my EQ life.
I remember you and i talked a bit during the whole Epic race before Epics became shitty.
I must say the first Serv (green dragon) and Gore kills were cool.
Serv was a bitch till we figured it out. Gore only took a couple of tries and mostly cause we would get unlucky and got feared all the way to Kanors. Until one time we went on a ninja strike raid and killed gore on the side of kanors with lots of peoples watching with like 18 people back when that was a small amount to be able to kill gore.
Also back with when i was Outshined and then Nameless of Mercy, (eventho its not a raid but) doing Hill Giants with all my friends i first made in EQ. A couple real life friends that were at the college with me and NoM friends. I remember my first solo HG kill also, saved some little halfling person running from it in NK, and beat the hell out of it. and the person wouldn't stop thanking me.
FYI my first HG kill wasn't until i was in Paragons, cause i never really cared about soloing them then i was bored one day and was soloing that named griffen and HGs in NK

i agree
pretty much man. After my fellow Paragons stayed up till 4am to get that, and i had worked on that for like 2 months or whatever, it was drained. But Shock of Swords renewed my love of the game until tha Euph SHock stand off hehe
