Wow. I think someone replaced the Mavericks during halftime with a selection of Delicious Folger's Crystals to see if anyone would notice the difference.

I don't have any other explanation for the Mavs so completely disappearing in the 2nd half. Wow. First half was close, 2nd half was like a NBA team against a JV college squad.

I feel bad for ya vonk, but I gotta be happy for the local boys, even if I don't follow 'em religiously.

I REALLY feel bad for Dirk. I think he's an awesome player, and he is going to catch SO much shit from EVERYONE between now and next playoffs.

The most priceless moment of the game was right at the beginning of the forth when Jackson made the hoop and got fouled and it was pretty much clinched that Dallas was going to lose they panned up to the audience and everyone was going crazy, all dressed in identical yellow and there is this one nerdy looking kid with a navy blue Dallas jersey standing as still as can be.

It was like that tennis scene in Strangers on a Train it made me laugh out loud.

Well, with the exception of the last few minutes of game 5 he pretty much choked all SERIES, I thought, though I agree, tonight was particularly egregious. The fact that he did it to himself still doesn't mean I don't feel somewhat bad for him, since this performance is so completely different to how he normally plays, and yet this series is all anyone'll talk about.

Dirk's going to get the MVP, and the league will hate him for it. Bill Simmons Article on Sunday was SO accurate.

It's going to be especially bad if Phoenix wins it all... Nash was kept out of the '3peat' pantheon by someone who was 'marginally' better in the regular season, and was merely the 4th or 5th best player on his team during the playoffs.

I'm so completely numb... I didn't get any sleep last night. I'm pretty sure that I'm 'giving up' sports. I sincerely hope that someone 'older and wiser' than me can find another time in history where a single city has been screwed over as bad as Dallas (regarding sports) in a 12 month period. I just don't think I can 'do this' anymore. It's too stressful. Seriously, I can't tell you guys what it was like at the bar last night... people were screaming at the top of their lungs, "DRIVE THE FUCKING LANE YOU FUCKING GERMAN BASTARD!!!"

And, there are 2 NFL fans for every NBA fan out there... probably 3:1 in Dallas. We had the 'Tony Romo' show this year... can't forget how THAT felt, followed up by Parcels quitting on us, and then a mediocre draft.

Someone find me an example of a city that was 'hit' as hard as mine. I'm not whining, I'm just hoping one exists so that we don't set 'another' record like this... you know, first team to blow a 2-0 lead in the finals... first team to win 63+ games in the regular season and lose in the first round... first team to win 67 games and 'not' win the championship... first #1 seed to lose to an #8 seed in a best of 7 series... 2nd worst margin of loss to a 1-seed in a deciding game (25 points, record is 29 points)... 1st time the league gives an MVP to a player who averaged 12% FG during the playoffs... 1st time a #1 seed blows an opportunity to win against a .500 #8 seed with an injured starting point-guard, small-forward and a 6-man rotation.

Oh, but we had a great regular season...

And Tony Romo is the future of the Cowboy's franchise...

And Turco wasn't the reason why we lost this time.

The Mavs will be back and are headed in the right direction. They laid an egg this year, partially because of Nelson, but mainly due to not peaking at the right time. They played a team that was red hot that matched up well with them. This has happened before, and will happen again.

I suggest you do give up sports. For the next 3 months, forget about the rubbish. Then in August, lo and behold, NFL preseason will be upon us...

The Redwings have been a pretty huge disappointment as of late in the playoffs with their president trophies then going out in the first and second rounds. The Tigers gettin owned in the World Series was hard for Tiger fans to swallow. The Lions? haha.

It's not too bad yet, but I think the Pistons and Wings are going to go down w/o reaching either final. Let alone the championship.

Not quite as bad as Dallas, but you're not alone in your dismay for professional sports.

I feel your pain, but any city that has an NFL franchise with 5 Super Bowl victories is not going to get a lot of sympathy from me. 2 cities more deserving of pity, IMHO, are Philadelphia and Cleveland. Where are championships from ANY NFL, MLB, NBA or NHL team from those two cities since at least the early 80's for Philly and, what, the 50's for Cleveland? OMFG.

While I suffered with the Lions and pre '06 Tigers, I took a lot of comfort in 3 Stanley Cups and 3 NBA titles. I'm also old enough to remember the '84 Tigers so that helped too. However, I would trade them ALL for 1 Super Bowl win.

I never seen a team laid down and give up in an elimination game before last night. Dallas just threw in the towel in the middle of the third quarter.

A co-worker just point this out to me: Since the 79-80 season teams with Magic, Bird, Moses Malone, Isiah Thomas, Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O'Neal or Tim Duncan have claimed 26 of the 27 championships.
