Seriously, wondering....

The fear of the unknown makes people a little loopy.

I am torn. If she truly wanted to die, then let her have her wish. I don't believe her husband though. I think he gave up all rights for any say over her when his live in fiance popped out baby #1. I know it would be hard to make that decision if it were me and my children. I think he feely the most stongly against STARVING her to death.

for about 12 years now.

If it was just the husband I'd buy that, Kizzy. But there were other witnesses and it's gone thru god knows how many courts. If there was any doubt you'd think one of those would have ruled against him.

Bush freres got what they wanted, some obscene pandering to the religious nutbars who control the GOP. Now she can be allowed to die, and they can milk the faithful with direct mail solicitations for the next election cycle.

Meanwhile, the middle-of-the-road Republicans, who are the ones gettgin angry about how their party has been hijacked by an army of Mindias, can be encouraged to forget about this episode, before it actually convinces some of them to oppose the Bible thumpers mission to control everyone's life.

Pretty sad, Rust, that a bunch of Bible thumpers have been pushing your precious Democrats out of office across the country.

or maybe...

You're wrong.

And the political machine wins again. The proles on both sides Right and Left are busy squaring off at each other and have totally missed the fact that the political elite go on making obscene amounts of money and continue the acumen of power regardless of a vegetative women’s life or death… This is just another distraction to keep the bible thumpers and self appointed liberal intellectuals squarely focused on the irrelevant.

Do not get me wrong, if there was even a remote chance she could recover, I would be all for them to try and fight it, but my god, 12 years as a vegetable? Let her go people, celebrate the better part of her life and quit dwelling on the miserable suffering part.

Yeah keep on starving her to death... that's much more humane than keeping her alive. This case has demonstrated that the ACLU is nothing but a bunch of hypocrites, losers, and evil bastards. They can stick up for a prisoner's rights on death row, but not for a woman who has done no wrong. The lunacy of the left has reached a new high...

I hope this same thing happens to Terry's husband, and all the judges that turned down the feeding tube reinsertion requests. Sick bastards.

Unbefrigginlievable.

strange how the humane thing to do for a suffering animal is to kill it.

for a suffering human, we let them die a slow, miserable death

what a bassackward world we live in

You can thank Mindia and friends for that one. They insist we all live by their religious codes, instead of being reasonable and allowing people to choose their manner of dying.

Hey fuckwit, she expressed a desire NOT to be kept alive like this.

Why do you religious fuckups demand she be kept alive against her expressed wishes? Fuck you, and fuck your sick fucking fear of death.

Of course the "religous zealots" fear death, deep down they know their belief in god was a waste of time.

She may not want to be kept alive, but I am sure she didn't want to starve to death.

How do we know she didn't want to be kept alive? The word of the soon-to-be-ex-husband?

yeah... and 15 years later?

yeah... I'm not feeling it.

Regardless... as I've said at least a couple times now, it's not the death that bothers me - it's the manner by which they're accomplishing it.

Her best friend also testified she would not want to live like this.

A majority of medical professionals believe there is no pain in passing away like this.

I'd prefer a lethal dose of morphine, personally. This is supposedly pain free for her.

All I know is it was properly adjudicated, for years. I'm glad the Bush's have the common sense to not try and go overboard and trample on the constitution.

Rust is an amoeba-brained idiot. He proves it over and over again. Terry's husband is a lying piece of crap murderer. He will get his in the end. Anybody who sides with Terry's husband is a piece of stinking offal. And I'm not scared of death... I know where I'm going after I die. :boots:

Care to provide some evidence for the assertions that he's lying about her wishes? No, the completely unsubstantiated claims by some random nurse, with zero evidence to back her up don't count. Sorry, but the standards for acceptible belief are a BIT more rigorous than that, at least by rational people. Those who have ecstatic visions of Jesus in their bathroom are excused. (and why is it those that have visions of Jesus are viewed as religious, and those who see Elvis are called nuts? They're both seeing things that aren't there...) Also, care to refute her best friend saying the exact same thing, that she wouldn't have wanted to be kept alive that way?

Care to offer an opinion of "how she will get better" when her brain tissue isn't there any more? Not damaged, GONE. I'd say the same thing to you that I said to Kizzy, "You think you'd be a functioning individual if someone chopped your skull open with an axe and scooped out half your brain material and tossed it into the garbage?", but seeing as how you ARE functioning (sort of), and it's manifestly obvious that you're operating on rather less than half a brain, I'd say the question is moot.

Her husband isn't doing this for money, he's been offered millions and millions if he gave up his guardian rights, and he turned it down. Why would he fight for her right to die, when he would gain millions of dollars and never have to deal with her care ever again, if he DIDN'T care for her and be trying to fulfil her wishes? You saying he is Ted Bundy Mk 2 and just wants to whack her just to see her die? That's pretty ludicrous, yes?

So, in MindiaLand (that place completely divorced from actual reality), why is he doing this, then? Hrm?

And yes, we know where you're going when you die: 6 feet below the ground, to be food for worms. As for your spirit? Well, given your intolerant and hate-filled trip through this life, I'd say you're going to be knocked back several pegs on the karmic wheel.

He hasn't accepted the money so it doesn't appear like he's only in it for the money. Gee, you're really smart Arlos. I can smell that stink miles away. Open your eyes and your brain. This guy is a piece of crap. The doctor's, nurses, and other people who know him all know he's a lying deceitful moron. Just accept it. Remove your truth deflector shield for a moment and try to look at this case analytically.
