The bowl games get the schools WAY too much money to do away with them without a bunch of drama.

You could replace the bowl income with playoff income, if you handled it correctly.

The problem is the sponsers. Every sponsor wants to be THE big game and they will all pay for it.

You can still have sponsorships for playoff games.

I think if you going to have a playoff system then only the conference winners should get in. You win your conference.... you're in. No arguments ... no controversy... no dependence on polls.

So who is the Big East going to play? The BCS is going to have a realignment in 2007.
It's a fucking farce that Rutgers or Pittsburgh will get a BCS bid because they win the Big East. West Virginia is the only team in that division thats even ranked. We could see UCLA and Oregon with 1 loss and not get a BCS bid.

Last year Cal had only one loss(to USC) and didnt go to a BCS bowl. The people around here were whining their asses off until Texas Tech kicked Cal's ass in one of the bowl. Shut those fucking whiners off quick.
