After doing up through Nef, I'm going to have to disagree with that. What doesn't work about it?

Rofl what doesn't work about it? You're not using it right. Are you sure you don't have rank 1 fade on your hotbar?
Try doing a group heal once and watch 4 mobs run at you, hit Fade and watch them run away...it works.

Thanks, Tacks. I didn't think about that, I will check the rank tonight.
We did a 10man LBRS last night. I was only priest, 1 druid, 4 hunters, 2 warriors, 1 rogue, 1 mage. The two tanks both had to log. we were at up to Halycon. The druid said he stealth ran this all the time, and he would tank. Dumbass hunter pulled the end of the hall without waiting for pat. So we had like 8 running towards us. I cast a sheild on the mage after he sheeped and drew aggro, sheilded the druid, cast a flash heal, hit fade, and I was dead before I could sheild and heal myself.

That's a good summary right there.

Sounds like the group needs to learn how to play the game.
Really what did you think Fade was going to do on a fucked up pull like that?

If you shielded twice and healed someone, odds are no one really had aggro on the mobs and they all came for you, and at that point if you fade, they have no where to go anyway, which would be why they all stayed on you. Think about soloing a mob. If you fade while soloing, the mob won't just run away. Same principle.

You should know by now that alliance usually does instances with the max amount of players.

We were going to do a UBRS, but not enough people showed up, so we just made it a LBRS.
On my mage I very rarely ever die. If I get aggro I use Ice Block, and they go off and attack something else. Guess that is what I was expecting to happen. Fade just gives a chance, Ice Block just does it.

No, someone else just has to have prior aggro besides you. You have an assload of mobs. You have no tank to really hold aggro. You heal and shield, drawing aggro to you. If the mobs haven't had someone else on them prior to your heal/shield whatever, fade will not get rid of the mobs because they have nowhere else to go.
Say in an instance, a tank pulls, charges whatever. He gets time to establish aggro on mobs, you heal tank, mobs run at you, you fade. They should go back to the tank.

First of all ice block is a 21 point talent which makes you totally immune for 10 sec...
2nd if you read the tooltip for Fade all it does is lowers your agro WHILE YOU ARE FADED. It's a temporary effect for your warrior to have more time to get agro off you. After that 10 sec is over all the agro goes back to where it was before.
Lets say out of 100 hate points you have 90 and the warrior has 50:
90 You
50 warrior
40 rogue
40 mage
20 druid
You get mobs running at you so you hit fade then it might look something like this:
50 warrior
40 rogue
40 mage
35 you
20 druid
So in that 10 seconds the warrior has to get enough agro to be above your original agro rate of 90 (fictional number) or the mobs will go back to you after fade is done:
after fade:
100 warrior
90 priest
40 rogue
40 mage
20 druid
If this happens then the warrior keeps the agro

Makes sense. At least I know how and when to use it now. Thank you for breaking it down.

Also with Ice block, don't all "immunity" abilities dump all aggro while you are immune? (unless soloing)
I know if I shield on my pally while in a group they leave me til the shield wears off.

Yes Donnel. The only time they wouldn't leave you is if you're solo thent hey just stand there beating on you getting immune messages.

OK so Fade is a godsend. I only died in MC the other night when we all wiped, and I was still the last priest alive. I was assigned the MT, and again, he never died either unless it was a complete wipe. We did very well IMO. As a matter of fact, I very rarely ever die now.
I love Fade, I have timed when to use it, after which spell, etc etc. I really appreciate all the help and tips.
Now, being 60, I never solo, always in a group. Is there any reason for me to even try to learn how and when to use damage spells? I like pulling with shackle. Its fun

Works for me, by the time I shackle, the mages have sheeped, and I use fade, and gain no aggro. I guess if that means I don't have a clue, then at least I am doing my job as a healer wthout having one.

I made this mistake last night because we had a pussy tank that didnt want to move til full mana I thought he was about to charge so I started shakle...I lived but anways I hate that shit.

All of the officers in my guild lead raids. I like sticking to the baby Baron, Scholo, LBRS/UBRS raids because that is what I know. (Although I always get lost in LBRS)
Anyway, one started leading the raid last night, and he would wait until FM and untilize the /raready command. Then the other officer got bitchy and decided he liked to be in control and took over the raid, and he would pull when I was at 10mana. I would still keep him alive, but he is a pally specced in Holy, so he was a paper tank. Finally I started telling him that he wasnt allowed to pull until I was ready. He did it again, I let him die, and filed my nails for a few minutes before I ressed him.

For example. Undead Stratholme...you pull with shackle, they all run for you, you have first aggro..another situation where fade won't seem to work so hot.
