sorry offering dog food is a slap in the face
personally i agree with the let them starve thought... when you have to many people living in an area that doesnt even support farms people will die.
sending food wont help them since the governtment is corrupt and it doesnt even get to the people

Its fucking dog food, for the love of god, I know people who have had to eat it before to survive and they straight out said, it could have been a lot fucking worse. Its not like there is anything in eat we don't normally eat, its just not high quality. If I was starving I would take a block of smooshy corn biscuit anyday. Its not like they said "Hey, we can send you a shipment of our poop for you to sustain life on".

BTW, had you ever been in an environment where you had to starve for a while, say a week, or two, you would eat any fucking thing in front you.
Leaves...rocks...twigs..roadkill..another human..anything..
Also-the dog food isn't being processed through a digestive system and crapped out of someone's or somethings anus.

Honestly, do they consider dogs vermin or something? Is that why they are so offended? I did notice they do not keep them as pets, and consider being called a dog a huge insult, I'm just not sure why this is to them and am interested.

They may very well regard dogs as vermin and consider anything related to them as vermin or worse. How do you think it'd go over if it was suggested by another country that we take care of the hunger problem in America by feeding people steamed cockroaches? Hey, bugs are high protein, so it's no worse nutritionally than the dog food being offered, so it should be A-OK, right?

People who are starving (ie: not just hungry, but DYING because they have not had food for days and their bodies are literally consuming themselves from the inside slowly and painfully) will resort to eating bugs, spoiled food, gross stuff that would normally be discarded, and even human flesh. If you seriously think cultural-based pride is more important than people slowly dying in agony, you're cracked.
Bland corn biscuits are probably better than 90% of the food the poor there have available during a famine anyways.

Fuck man, if I was going to die, I would eat the fucking cockroach. Holy shit, I would have a hard time because I am skittish about bugs, but if it was life or death I would HAVE to get over it. I would probably vomit up my first meal though, I'm sure it would take some getting used to.

Actually I have suggested this. Hell we eat lobsters dont we? Those fuckers are just giant sea cockroaches.

I once read that there was a slave revolt in Massachusetts back in either the late 1600s or early 1700s, that arose out of a protest that they were being forced (yes, forced) to eat Lobster for 2 meals out of 3 every day.
Going back to the original topic, I think it is rather silly that they'd refuse food, from ANY source. Indeed, I bet if they'd never heard that it was intended to be dog food, and it had just been presented to them as low-grade corn biscuits, they'd have been all for it. However, when you run up against major cultural taboos, rationality goes right out the window. It sounds entirely plausible that offering these people anything dog-related is indeed quite akin to offering a completely devout hindu a plate of prime rib, or a devout orthodox jew a big plate of ham or crab.
