Unemployment hooked me up when I got laid off in nawlins. Definitely check out what they can do for you. And if it gets real bad bust out the food stamps. Do what ya gotta do.

Did you work set hours or could you come and go as you please? Was there a dress code?
1099 employees are given a task (and generally a specific length of time to work...1 year....6 months...something) and as long as that task is completed what hours they work and how they dress is up to them. If you were required to work set hours then you should be able to argue successfully that your 1099 designation was wrong and get unemployment.

I came and went as I pleased, no dress code. Although, I always dressed nice excpet for Fridays.
