While I have never been to Nebraska so I cant say for 100% sure. I would be willing to bet it is NOTHING like living south as far ass heat and humidity go.
I actually start feeling wierd when the humidity drops below 85% and I have only seen snow 3 times in my life and one of those times I had to drive to Ohio to find it, no I don't think we can even compare the two.

It snowed here last night, and the ground is covered,
I miss Texas.

I don't listen to Rush, I think he's a pompous ass. I don't listen to talk radio, I don't even own a radio.
Scientists in the last couple decades have been postulating about global warming. The 40's thru the 70's they theorized that we were approaching another ice age. Two decades from now it'll be something else. Next you'll be telling me the Little Ice Age we left in the 1800s was caused by something man did, too. The earth goes thru warming and cooling cycles all on it's own.

The earth does go through "cycles," but that doesn't mean that man isn't contributing to the problem. It's not ALL man's fault, but please... please don't try to convince me that the toxic compounds we pump into the air daily aren't accelerating the issue.
That's the problem with this country - people with no formal education in certain topics think they know the truth about this or that because of a few articles they've read, or a few talk shows they've listened to. That's not a personal attack toward you - I'm just tired of people who don't even know what ozone is spouting off about how "we don't really have a problem, it's just the earth going through a stage."
Do you really know what global warming is? How it works? What potentially causes it and why? I'm betting not.

Do you know your carbon footprint?
Better yet, would you like our company, that rapes the environment, to explain it to you?

I watched The Day After Tomorrow and listen to Al Gore! It's obvious the polar icecaps will melt and cause abrupt Climate Change, and I look forward to the Tornados in L.A.

If the world was 4 degrees hotter 100,000 years ago then this sets a precident for it happening again. We haven't even gone up a full degree from the lows we had when everyone was freaking about another ice age.
You used the word potentially. This means even the 'great brains' aren't sure and are guessing just like they were guessing when they wanted to cover the poles in black soot. The world would be a hell of a lot better if science would quit trying to make things 'better' by fucking with the natural order.

ya, fucking science...what's it gotten us other than the internet, space flight, cures for diseases, etc. if man were meant to fly he'd have wings!
i think global warming's a good thing. there'll defintely be another ice age, so lets melt as much of the ice as we can before it gets here. i'd prefer it if michigan had an ocean beachfront
ps - it's snowing like a mother fucker right now

true enough, but it's one small step forward in that field. it's incredible when you think about how they were able to manipulate the DNA to do that.
i wonder how long it's going to be untill genetically engineered super people. maybe just immune from any genetic disorders, or maybe with gorilla strength.
and before you start screaming ethics. how is abortion legal, and genetic manipulation not? it's a question over control of one's own body. i think people should be allowed to manipulate their fetus if they don't want an autistic kid. - although i don't know if autism is genetic, insert any genetic disorder there
if you're in with the fetus has no rights crowd. then why not let an unplanned pregnancy go to good use. and let a bio company manipulate it to save lives. if you want you could think a part of it lives on in the person who receives stem cells, or organs from it.

okay no we don't have six months of 100+ degree weather with 95%+ humidity
but we have three months of 95+ degree weather with 95%+ humidity
so fuck you

for ever 5 scientists that say there is a problem with global warming...there are 5 scientists that say the earth is going thru a cycle. Frankly my concern is here and now. 1 degree every 15 years does not really register on my radar.
Mother earth will be a fucking unstable bitch long after we have setup hot dog stands on the moon and moved off of her.

You are wrong, and so is every other conservative blowhard that has a problem with science and facts. I shouldnt be surprised, same thing with evolution, hell you guys trust nothing pretty much except what your favorite political figure of the day tells you. Primitve.
How apropos, more liberal media lies I guess!
http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/03/26/coverstory/index.html
"A 10-member House delegation did recently travel to Antarctica, Australia and New Zealand to meet with scientists studying climate change. "Of the 10 of us, only three were believers to begin with," says Rep. Sherman Boehlert of New York. "Every one of the others said this opened their eyes.""
at least there are still some sane people somewhere, if not in congress or the white house :
"The mayors of more than 200 cities have signed the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, pledging, among other things, that they will meet the Kyoto goal of reducing greenhouse emissions in their own cities to 1990 levels by 2012. Nine northeastern states have established the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative for the purpose of developing a program to cap greenhouse gasses."

something else they fail to realize is that without science - their favorite blue blood hero american sell out billionare business CEO's would have nothing to sell...

And that same billionaire business CEO's company wouldn't have toxins to spew into the air. Don't try and make scientists out to be saints. They are the same as everyone else and make just as many mistakes.

so say you while you sit in front of a personal computer, expressing your opinions on the internet, which is probably the single greatest human invention since the printing press.
perhaps you can draw up a list of what knowledge is forbidden?

Wow, way to completely miss the point.
Scientists are human and make mistakes, just like everyone else. To hold them up as all-knowing and infallible is foolish.
To quote Jurassic Park "your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."

if all people are equally fallible, then who will decide what knowledge
should be investigated, and what
shouldn't?
your quoting a movie, yet i missed the point?
