Number of sites are now reporting that Houston may be going for Mario Williams in the draft over Reggie Bush. Basically it seems to be boiling down to the realization that defense wins more championships than Offense (see how many super bowls KC and Indy have won recently), and the fact that Williams may be far more signable. That would put New Orleans in the catbird seat, to some extent. They could listen to offers from people to move up, take Bush themselves (though why, when they have Deuce already, is a question), or just take someone like D'Brickshaw. One of the reports I read said that if Bush makes it to the 3rd pick, San Francisco has already talked to Tennessee about trading up to get him, which'd let Tennesee take Cutler, Leinart or Young at 6th, cheaper, and get extra draft picks out of it.

We'll see what happens, I suppose. No way to tell how much of this is pre-draft spin/disinformation. Though, the signability factor does make sense, actually. I mean, if Houston can't get whoever they're going to pick signed by the draft, they face the prospect of a lengthy holdout. So, if they really do have Bush & Williams at 1 and 1A, and one will sign and the other won't... Well, that could certainly go a long way to making up their minds, I'd think.

I can only hope the Texans take super mario, but I think its all smoke to get Bush to relax a little on his insane contract demands.

I think the Saints could end up with a mega sweet trade down offer if Bush, Leinart, and Young are all there at 2.

Mario is a rare athlete, and Ill be happy if the Saints take him at 2. But we have drafted a million DEs the past few years.

yeah. there is talk they won't take Bush. Seems the star first picks are more of a headache than they are worth, unless of course he performs up to speed DOH. But the truth is that if they can get an offensive line that is legit, Dominck Davis will work just fine.

And ummm...The Cowboys season will look like the outtakes of BROKEBACK MOUTAIN..... getting bent over and....

Dallas is this years hyped up team that will fail. Then Parcell's man-boobed, blonde dyed hair will leave Dallas in disarray.

Well, Dallas was a 9-7 team last year, and were only a few plays away from being a game or two better. I'd say that it's obvious to any football fan that they've improved quite a bit. So, the logical assumption is that they are at least a playoff team, if not a legitimate contender. The giants are a very good team too. The NFC champ will come out of the east this year.

Thats true for skill position players, but the blue collar guys flourish in any system if they have the abilities and heart.

Well the Skins were 10-6 and made it further than the Giants in the playoffs, we were only one play away from being the second seed in the NFC and having a bye in the playoffs (ie: the Tampa game where Alstott reached for the TD that I still think shouldve been overturned). We were also 9-2 in our NFC games. And won our last 5 games of the season including all 3 of our division rivals. We made solid aquisitions in the offseason and lost no major players. After all that you say the Skins have no chance in the division.

Your logic makes no sense to me.

The skins didn't improve noticably. Antwan Randle El? Loyd? You picked up two second string receivers.

You show me how the redskins have come close to improving as much as Dallas and NY and I'll admit my logic is faulty.

Also as I said before, washington has no first round pick.

You forget what an amazing year Santana Moss had. Why would they go out and get another number one WR? All they need are number twos. The redskins have the most depth at WR in the entire conference now.

Where your logic is flawed is that you think they need to majorly improve to be competitive in the NFC East. The Redskins were better than Dallas going into the offseason so we only needed to patch some holes with some minor player upgrades. Our major role players are already in our offense.

Dallas still needs to figure out its running back. Julius Jones is in Parcell's doghouse. He is soft and cant play an entire season, which is why Marion Barber started stealing carries. So your lack of a solid run game will hurt TO aswell as Bledsoe's immobility and tendency to get sacked.

Well, if you think i'm wrong that the redskins need to improve to be competitive in the east, then we'll have to agree to disagree. I think everyone but them has signifigantly improved. Even Philly will be much better with McNabb back.

Going 10-6, by the skin of your teeth, and then improving negligably while everyone else in your division improves signifigantly, is a recipe for mediocrity at best.

A first round pick doesn't make or break a division, but i would certainly rather have one, than not. It's ok though, you guys should have one in the top 15 next year.

Oh yeah - the running game will be fine. The TO addition will stretch the defense, and improvements on the O-line will go a long way as well. Dallas running problem was not due to lack of talent at the RB position, but lack of it at other positions allowing teams to key in on the running game. That situation has been remedied.

Improving in the offseason doesnt always show immediate results. Look at the Redskins teams of the past or the Vikings and Raiders this year. It's all about chemistry and the funny this is that you guys picked up a player who doesn't know what chemistry is.

And the reason we dont have a first rounder this year is because we used it last year. His name is Jason Cambell. And hey the draft isnt here yet. I wouldnt be surprised if the Redskins move up into the first round.

Owens will be fine, at least for one year. I would be more worried about Sean Taylor doing a few years in prison.

If Ray Lewis can get out of it, Sean Taylor can.

I cant wait for next season. My wish is for the niners to go 8/8 this year(i know it wont happen but meh). keep doubling up wins each year and ill be happy.

if Alex Smith can play a little better, and their D improves I don't think 8-8 is impossible.

The good news is that might make the playoffs in the NFC.
