They are silly, too. I have a neighbor that's all wigged out about the Harry Potter books. So I asked her if she had read any, her answer "No". So I ask her how does she know what's in them. She heard some weirdo on the radio ranting about them. How can you condemn something on someone else's word, can't you think for yourself and form your own opinions? No answer.
I was thinking more of the phreak out over the Da Vinci Code

Well, that depends. Many so-called atheists tend to be the young rebellious type, and are probably just trying to lash out at something as a way to get attention (I used to think I was atheist, and that's the realization I came to). Those types of people are lame. However, atheism should be as respected as any other religious beliefs out there are. If you're going to trash talk one, you may as well start trash talking them all. Please start with scientology, though.
Religious beliefs are built upon faith more than truth, so your claim doesn't seem very sound. The words "faith" and "truth" seem almost contradictory to me.

The caricature of the guy with the beard and a bomb on his turban was Muhammad. Muslims act like it was "Allah." What rule are you talking about?
I guess you're the one who doesn't understand the comic strips, or the Muslim religion for that matter, Mindia... big surprise there.
Maybe you want to do some research before making stupid statements.

If it was Allah depicted in the cartoon, you could have read it on the nametag, ala
"Hello! My name is: Allah".
All depictions of ineffable dieties are required to have those nametags, just to keep them
readily identifiable when they're parodied by earthly agents. Dieties with actual physical
characteristics are not subject to this rule -- Thor, for example, you can identify by Mjolnir,
that stupid hammer he always carries around. Zeus would be wielding lightning bolts in any
suitable depiction.
The Tao wears a hanging sign that says "I am not the true Tao" (but on the back it reads: 'the
statement on the other side of this sign is false').

Maybe you should take a closer look at the cartoons. Oh, but of course you know it better than my Muslim roommate...

Those are pictures of the prophet Muhammad, NOT "Allah." Allah and Muhammad are not one and the same. Allah is the god of the nations of Islam. Muhammad is Allah's messenger. You're ignorance is laughable, yet astonishing, Ginzburg.

When exactly did I saw the cartoon was of Allah?
ROFL you are the biggest moron that has ever posted on NT.
You're argument makes absolutely no sense Mindia.
Can't you just admit you were wrong?

the point you keep missing is that to muslims, it's as taboo to depict Muhammad as it is to depict Allah

Let me break it down for you because you will naturally try to garble what you said to make it seem like you are right because you are incapable of admitting you are wrong:
Mindia said:
My Muslim roommate was livid about the comic strips. It's too bad he doesn't understand that Muhammad was just a prophet, and not "Allah."
Which sounds like you are saying that your roomate has no business being livid about the comic strip because the comic strip depicts Muhammad and not Allah, which seems to me like you think that it's more of an offense to make a comic about Allah than it is about Muhammad.
Ginz Said:
The rule applies to Muhammad. So I think you're the one that doesn't understand.
For the reason I stated above. Then we went back and forth and I said, "the rule applies to Muhammad, not allah. To which you replied:
Mindia Said:
The caricature of the guy with the beard and a bomb on his turban was Muhammad. Muslims act like it was "Allah." What rule are you talking about?
Proving that you know nothing about the rule that NO ONE is allowed to draw Muhammad.
Then you make the last ridiculous statement:
Mindia Said:
Those are pictures of the prophet Muhammad, NOT "Allah." Allah and Muhammad are not one and the same. Allah is the god of the nations of Islam. Muhammad is Allah's messenger. You're ignorance is laughable, yet astonishing, Ginzburg.
Agreeing with what I have been stating all along, then you call me ignorant.
You are fucking ridiculous.

Oh for fucks sake. You're like an argumentative little child. I know that it's taboo to make fun of Muhammad too, but at the end of the day... he is still Muhammad, not Allah. I'm not saying that YOU said he was Allah, Ginz, but many Muslims look at him that way. When I said, My Muslim roommate was livid about the comic strips. It's too bad he doesn't understand that Muhammad was just a prophet, and not "Allah," you totally took it out of context.

It's still a muslim rule that you cannot depict Muhammad, how is that taken out of context you stupid motherfucker?
Just because Mindia, lord of Rednecks says, "hey, he's not Allah so you people shouldn't be pissed because I said so" despite the fact that it's been a Muslim rule to not depict EITHER OF THEM for how long?
You are truly, truly a fucking retard.

Look at the worldwide ruckus these idiots are making... the riots, the murders, the violence, the destruction of property, etc. all because somebody made fun of their prophet. Oh, and btw Ginz, show me in the Quran where it is a
RULE that you cannot depict Muhammad. STFUYSMF.
Let's see how long it takes him to come back after his Google search. On your mark, get set, GO!

The worldwide ruckus isn't the debate here but way to side step.
And are you saying that it isn't a rule that you cannot depict Muhammad? Because I could of sword you agreed with what Tikker said earlier in regards to the taboo surrounding Muhammad's depcition.

Jesus and Mohammed hang out all the time together.
They play poker on Tuesday nights with the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and Megatron.
