Yes you are a killing a baby if you abort. A fetus has a brain, heart, lungs, nerve endings and just about everything else... just not fully developed obviously. It's a good thing you pay close attention in your biology classes.

Catholics and Christians in earlier times defined life as when th baby took it's first breath. Now it's when it's an embryo?

In earlier times we burned non believers at the stake, too. Neither were relatively good decisions, although the more Zan posts, the more I like the stake idea.

But, in the first trimester, when it is legal to abort a fetus, that so-called "life" cannot live outside the mother's womb on it's own. Therefor, it shouldn't be considered alive or a "life" of it's own. It is still a growth, like a tumor, of the mother.

It's all personal preference. There is no set guideline of the belief.
