Josh, I hate to say this, but (OH GOD KILL ME NOW) Zanchief is right. YOu should be happy for Adi instead of degrading her choice to further her education.

I would hope I use my degree. If things are really bad and there is not work in my field I will go back to school for a veterinary degree, where I know there will always be a use for me. There is no way I am going to work in a dead end job that requires no education for me to get, I want to work somewhere with options for advancement and be able to support myself and whatever family I may have.

Often times jobs don't look at what degree you have but rather that you have a degree at all.
