why not, it's a filthy disgusting habit that makes you reek and hurts yourself and others around you

I'm in better shape, I'm less likely to die from numerous diseases, I don't have that costly addiction, I don't reek like cigarrettes, I have whiter teeth, etc.

The list continues on and on. To think it's not a detriment to you in any way is ridiculous.

Edit: I also don't hurt others around me.

I didnt say its not bad for you. Just a good way to releive stress and kill time. Goin for a walk and havin a smoke ( or half pack) is quite relaxing.

Shut up spazz you're tempting me =\

I smoked Marlboro Reds (stole em from dad) then I smoked my cousin's Newports (blech) then Marlboro Lights then Camel Turkish Gold. The Turkish Gold's I smoked for like 6 years and once in a while I'd treat myself to Camel Izmir Stinger. Now I haven't had a smoke in 4 months ish.

The only reason it is relaxing is because of the established addiction.

When I'm stressed out I don't want to go out and inhale smoke.

who says I spit in front of people? 99% of the time if im talking to someone that would be offended id swallow it or if need be id walk away or go outside. I dont carry around a clear plastic bottle with me everywhere I go like some people do so everyone can hear me spit or see the nasty shit (and yes I know its nasty) drippin around inside the bottle. Not all smokeless users are inconsiderate about it

Just as an FYI for smokers in TX (not sure if nationwide or just us) the tax on cigs is about to go *way* up. Currently a pack has 0.41 cents of tax. As of Jan '07 that tax will rise to 1.41 per pack. If you go through a pack a day expect to spend another $350 a year on cancer. Not to mention retailers could likely jack up the price to make more $$ and blame it on the tax increase.

Oh and Camel Jade Light here. Mmmm crystal lungs.

Since 1998, the California's cigarette tax is 87 cents a pack. Proposition 86 on the November ballot would increase the tax on cigarettes to $3.47 a pack.

Isn't that prop 86? I thought prop 87 was the "Windfall Profits" tax on oil companies.

I'm all for making people pay $3+ a pack on taxes.

That would make me roll laughing at my friends hardcore.

$8-9 a day, 365 days a year,

Oh yea big guy thats totally what your tax dollars are going to. The tax is quite unfair and its not cuz us smokers cost so much its cuz they see it as a chance to seperate americans from more of they money. Spose they decided to put a huge tax on red meat would you think that was just too ?

The government allready collects way too much in taxes as it is. Why would you be for them collecting any more money.
