I didn't start playing until summer of 2000, but you could definitely get that screen by hitting F10.
I don't need no instructions to know how to ROCK!

Its timestamped as 1999 on my PC. I have no clue what you are talking about UI wise. These are from 1999.

This was WAY before Kunark, which was released in early 2000.

Then again, you weren't around.

Pretty sure I have screenshots from 99' that have transparencies in them. I think that was released in a patch.

My raids with SoS were the most impressive, the ones with COA were the most fun. There's really something to be enjoyed when everything is new.

Mall: You may have, I don't remember really.

I got to raid quite a bit with SoS and LoS in the Velious era. That was always tons of fun and some server firsts as well but my most memorable was when my old guild "Ascendant Council" killed Innoruuk with the help of Seanlan and a few other late night crackheads. No idea what era that was... pre Kunark I am pretty sure. The first time AC cleared Fear was a pretty badass feeling too.

EDIT: the Inny kill had to be just after Kunark was released. I met Seanlan in Kaesora.

Most memorable is probably the infamous Euphoria/Shock NToV stand off.
/sigh

Though the standoff between CoE and Sanct over Trak sticks out in my mind as well.

But one of the best ones that I really remember was a pick-up raid way back in the day lead by Crogan and Arbaal in Plane of Sky. I have some good times that weekend. ImageImage

Crogon was a trip. The guy gave me more tells as more different characters than I can remember.

Its cool, Morgreth, but those pics are very, very early EQ and way before Kunark.

Sheesh, your memories are all lacking, the new UI (As it were) which included elements of the old and new (The hot button box, for example, with the transparent windows) was released after Kunark was released, and Kunark was released in Summer of 2000.

Sorry Lyion, those pics are from Kunark

One of my first big raids was a Naggy raid, that Cliffboxer led. I rembember I bound outside her room and kept dying and running back in naked and nuking it till I died again and ect over and over. I had a ton of corpses at the end , and Naggy was the first actual dragon I saw :P

Threads like these prompt me to exuse myself to the bathroom where I sit with my head in my hands teary eyed for 5-10 minutes.

Thanks.

No, they are not.

But dont take my word for it, ask any of the tons of people still around who did the Anks Vox raid which was way before Kunark. All of them will gladly tell you you're wrong.

Then again you had no clue about Euphoria's history, a guild I helped found.

Here's more proof for ya. This is Christmas 1999. Also, post April 2000 I changed my lastname to Von'Tsai, before Kunark was released.

If you want to argue, then how about proof? I've given mine, and many in the screenshots are still around and can verify this.

almost every first kill seems to be a memorable, but the most memorable raid atm that's in my mind would be

Evermore tells the raid, 'DESP CHARGE!!' (just as we entered the doors and getting buffed/ready to try this red balrog who wears only 1 piece of cloth)

Despim has been slain by Xuzl.

Favorites were any that involved me KS'ing the raid in my group.

More with Less doing stuff with Remedy was also fun.

Camping that guy in that volcano area by OT for the cleric epic for Rhaje. That was when having that could make or break a guild. Talk about drama holding that camp for 12 hours. Insane.

Yeah the sheer drama alone of holding camps for that long set EQ apart from every other game. You made good friends and worse enemies during those types of scenarios. :P
