Yes, the boards are all warped.

That sucks man. Shell out the extra dough to get hardwood flooring. Whatever you do don't go with linoleum. I had linoleum in my house in Reno and it started buckling after about 3 years.

YOu dont put hard wood flooring in your kitchen, the same thing will happen if it floods again, Its real wood.

Dont go with lineloleum, the way to go at this time is tiles. Nice ceramic tiles. Easy to install yourself, or you can have someone install it for you.

DEFINETLY dont use peel and stick vinyl tiles.

Yeah, black and white ceramic tiles is what we are probably going to do. Talking to the contractor about it on Tuesday.

So far today I've watched a show about Extreme Halloween decorations with the kids and loaded the dishwasher. Getting ready to do math and reading/grammar followed by history, science and music.

My parents just recently remodeled their kitchen for $60k lol. They used hardwood flooring, granite countertops, all stainless steel appliances, and custom cabinetry. Looks pretty pimp.

haha was it orange? I saw that in a house one time. It matched the cultured marble countertop with the gold flecks in it. Oh, and the rubber orange and yellow sunflower stickies they had on the bottom of the tub so their feet didn't slip.

No it wasn't orange. It did smell like urine though.

Probably had a cat box in the bathroom.

gosh, that's what happened at josh's old apartment. the stupid idiots that he lived with would get all drunk and then be unable to aim properly and end up peeing all over the place. that bathroom was MISERABLE to clean when they moved out, i nearly vomited.

You should have made *HIM* clean the damn bathroom.

i cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen, and it took me upwards of 4 hours altogether. we didn't get done cleaning and moving everything until 5 a.m.

there wasn't a deposit--apparently the apartments are deposit-free, but if the place is a shithole when you move out, then you have to pay exhorbitant amounts of money for cleaning and repairs.

so no, they didn't get a deposit back--but they didn't have to pay for anything other than a broken mirror. and judging from stories i've heard from other people who have lived in those apartments, they got off pretty damn easy only having to pay for that one thing.

Toss~ make sure they seal the grout or you will have problems in the future. Most cintractors do not seal grout unless they are specifically asked.

Well been off a couple of days but the last night I worked....

1. Started off very busy with a ton of patients. Most were not nearly as sick as they perceived themselves, and 90% were bitching about the wait.

2. Had several ambulances from 7p-12a including 3 drunks. One I kicked out of the ER after he took 2 swings at one of my staff. (Yes this is illegal unless you can throw the "you have the right to refuse treatment" line in there at some point, which I usually do under my breath)

3. Sent one guy to cath lab who was having a MI (heart attack).

4. Did the usual work of pt care, starting IV's, giving drugs, listening to complaints, arguing with physicians etc...

5. Had a 3 hour lull from 1:30-4:30 where we finally cleared most every pt out. I watched Southpark clips on youtube for awhile.

6. Had a 28 day old infant come in in cardio-pulmonary arrest. Worked the code but we were unsuccessful. Spent the rest of my shift dealing with LOPA, the Coroner, comforting staff, reviewing the code, and most importantly, helping the family. It was there first child and they were devastated. After the coroner and everyone was done, I cleaned up our work, I let the family come in and hold her and did the best I could to comfort them. I've done a lot of pediatric codes. Many successful and many not. They are always the hardest thing to do.

7. Gave report to my relief supervisor, got in my truck and cried on the way home for the first time in many years, as I thought about my own children, and hoped this family would get back on their feet soon. Yes, it was a full day at work.
