I considered that Mart but it's sort of a straw mans argument, attitude and action is a reflection of leadership. To wholly blame the Pentagon for failures is not unlike wholly blaming the guards for Abu Ghraib.

True...but by the same token you can't wholly blame Bush...except people find it convenient to ignore the whole slew of people responsible for armoring the troops.

Yes, but Bush took no public action of personal leadership to drive the effort to get them their gear and push it through faster. Instead, people like Rumsfeld whined, "You go to war with the army you have", and at least as far as public view was concerned, didn't go to any length to push to have the problem fixed. So yes, they are at least partially to blame.

that was a shitty statement by kerry. I wouldn't say he is disgusting thou especially when you compare this to President Asshole taking us into a needless and unnecessary war with no plan of winning or ending and has cost us billions and 2,800 needless deaths.

Who REALLY is the disgusting human being?

Just to point out, since the "rumor" is IQ of a carrot for Bush, Bush had better GPA from Yale then Kerry.

Also Bush is the only US president to ever have a MBA. Not saying his speeches arent funny, but I know I'm not the only one who studders or says the wrong word when your talking to a friend or get in a hurry to spit something out.

Are there any conservative democrats (ie: dems with a properly-functioning brain) thinking of running for president?

I wish Fiengold would run(I mean, I wish the stupidly leftist Dem party would support him). He's the only Democrat I consistently support, and as much as I'd miss him as my senator I think he'd be just as good as a president.

Not running for pres but what do you think of (harold i think) Ford. The black guy running for sen in tenn ? He seems like a democrat that you could like. I saw him on real time and liked him Sounded like he could please people on the left and right.

I don't know much about him other than the two or three page story Time did on him. From what I read, he sounds like a great candidate.

Give me a Democrat that is moderate left on the economy, leftist on foriegn affairs, and considers the 2nd amendment as important as he does the first, and I'll rally the troops for him every single election.

Too bad the party is run by batshit crazy asshole lawyers.

there are no candidates from any party that fit this discription. Since being conservative nowdays seems to mean war-mongaring, right-wing and pro Bush, conservatism in itself suggests a non properly functioning brain. There has not been a true conservative in power since Grover Cleveland.

Mindia, exactly how do you personally define conservatism?

Fighting to uphold the pledge of allegiance with "In God" in it.
Fighting to uphold "In God We Trust" on our currency.
Fighting to keep the Ten Commandments in our Federal buildings.
Fighting to maintain the definition of "marriage" as being between a man and a woman.
Fighting to keep our 2nd amendment gun rights.
Fighting for national security issues such as the U.S./Mexico border fence (which many democrat asshats are against).

Upholding the true sense of the word: (from Wikipedia)

Conservatism is a philosophy defined by Edmund Burke as "a disposition to preserve, and an ability to improve."

That is the lamest bunch of issues I have ever read. Get your priorities straight. None of that shit matters in the "big picture".

Not in your opinion of what the "big picture" is. All of the things I mentioned mean a hell of a lot to a hell of a lot of people.

As the Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

The most conservative democrat thinking about running right now is Barack Obama.
