The game play is very sluggish, like NWN1.
Man I would kill for a great sequel of TOEE instead of a sequel to this game.
My thoughts exactly.
I had to turn everything either down, or all the way off to keep things moving smoothly. Even so, sluggish is definitely the word that comes to mind. It looks like crap, yet it still runs like crap. Amazes me that I can play WoW with things cranked up on 40-man raids without a hiccup, but not the damn cut scene at the start where your step father sends you to the fair without the voice de-synching from the animation.
Playing NWN2 made me miss ToEE's system of turn management so much that I stopped playing NWN2 completely, and loaded ToEE back up after not playing it for almost a year. Having to mash pause every round that I'd like to do more than simply autoattack is fucking annoying.
Also, by effectively pausing the game for you between each action of the round, and only moving once you (or the computer) chose its next move, you never had pauses in the action like NWN2 does where your character and their opponent just stand there -gazing deeply into eachother's eyes, I suppose- for 3-4 seconds waiting for their next action to come around again.
I could forgive the fact that NWN2 is a fucking hog graphically if the gameplay were more refined, but as such, I find it lacking, which detracts from my enjoyment of it.
