I hated Marty when he was at KC. We'd go 12-4 every year, then lose in the playoffs because we'd punt from the opponent's 40 yard line with 1:30 to go in the game.

Fraidy cat ball is horrible. I hate those calls to punt on the otherside of the 50. 4th and 1, 4th and 2 and they punt. Show some balls and go for it. Most of those punts only net 20 yards.

yeah, but now you'll get to watch herm call a running play, try to run no huddle, waste the full 39 seconds, run onto the field call a time out, run another running play, and then run out of time getting the field goal team out on the field

Atlanta fired Mora and Arizona fired Green.

I'm surprised that Denny got canned actually
they were only a player or 2 away from being pretty ok
give them 1 or 2 more drafts, toss in a couple free agent O-line and they would have been pretty decent
Mora is a retard and I'm happy to see him gone tbh

Vick is indeed a coach killer. Mora Jr didnt have control of that team. The inmates ran the asylum.
Green got shafted, but being in the weakest division of the weakest conference, he had his shot. He should've done more for the Lines, instead of bringing in skill players.

Green had been there several years, and had never even sniffed at a winning record. As I recall reading, the players weren't real thrilled with him either.
Mora, if he'd kept running the offense like he did in the first part of the season, when the Falcons were actually winning, would still be employed today. Instead, they went away from the Vick Option offense, and tried to go back to turning Vick into a pocket passer, which manifestly does NOT work. What Atlanta REALLY needs, more than anything, is an innovative Offensive Coordinator, who can design the entire offense around Vick.

The reason he went away from the pure running attack is Vick bitched and griped and went over his head to the owner, Arthur Blank. Vick and Blank are tight. Remember Blank wheeling Mikey around when he was hurt last year?
It doesn't matter what Atlanta does. They will win or lose on D. Vick just isn't that great a QB, despite being an amazing athlete. Atlanta's only hope is to get a strong D man, like Rex Ryan.

49ers vs. Titans for at least 2 of the next 5 superbowls.
You heard it here first!

Ya cant win superbowls on D alone. Vick need 2 things more recievers then Crumpler and someone needs to teach him accuracy. his back up ( i forget his name) is a WAY better QB.

I wouldn't mind seeing Fisher win a superbowl, I'm still not sold on young tho (I'm willing to be convinced tho!)
Chargers, Saints should be good for next few years too

Schaub.
2000 Ravens won mostly on D. New England wins mostly on D, despite Brady getting all the ink.
All WRs have drops. New Orleans WRs had double the drops of Atlanta, and yet Brees still is taking them into the playoffs. I'd be curious how Atlanta's current WR crop would do with Schaub in there fulltime.
Fisher is a good coach. I hope he leaves the Titans. He'd be an interesting fit with the Giants or Falcons.

they key word in your statement is mostly. atlanta has a shitful recieving core atm. i cant help but wonder if thats because vick sucks and has no idea how to utilize them properly.
btw most drops = T.O.

Doesn't Turd Owens have a broken hand, though?
The problem is Vick envisions himself as Peyton manning.
I think Atlanta WRs get a bad rap for Vick. I can understand having one or two bad WRs, but they've carted in quite a few, and at some point ya can't keep pointing the finger at them. A 6' QB running around with a rocket arm isn't going to make life easy for any WR.
Atlanta should do what Vick does best and run a psuedo college running attack to utilize his skill, like Arlos said. I don't see it happening as long as Blank and Vick are buddy buddy and Mikey can go over a head coaches head to the owner.

raw drops isn't really that meaningful of a stat
have to compare %drops, cause a guy that has 400 passes thrown at him is probably going to drop more than a guy that has 35 passes thrown at him
I THINK you could make a decent offence around Vick if you tried, but he's already almost at the point where he's going to start slowing down a lot

The Lions today announced that Matt Millen will be back next year. Detroit has the second overall pick in the draft.

would you throw to a guy that is dropping the ball all the time?
and Millen comming back is a deathknell for the lions.

bullshit
look at the record of the teams they beat, vs the record of the teams they lost to
and Evermore, it doesn't matter what offense you put Vick into, what receivers he has, he still sucks as a QB

I'm pretty disappointed that Cowher is fagging out and quitting. if his contract had been up, it'd be one thing to walk away, but leaving a year early is a bit weaksauce (unless he stays retired forever)

Saban is kind of a peice of shit
3 weeks after denying he'd go to Alabama he signs on the dotted line
I'm hearing now that Cowher is going to Miami which is just beyond bizarre
